  1. The Wild lost some pieces and signed almost no one. I don't see them getting better this season and they could drop out of the playoffs.

  2. The Wild's success is dependent upon a lot of things.
    – Can Rossi make the Top 6 and blossom
    – Can Boldy take the next step (he has the skill-set to get 30-35 goals, 80+ points this season)
    – Can Johansson be as productive as he was during his short stint last season
    – How does Faber step in for a full 82 game schedule (he's great defensively but how will he produce offensively and will he be with Brodin or on the 3rd pairing?)
    – Did Addison improve his defense
    – Can Ek continue improving his point totals (I think this is the most likely since he'll now be in the Top 6 for a full season)
    – Can Kaprizov improve his point totals (he has the raw talent and hockey IQ to put up 50+ goals, 120 points, as crazy as it sounds)
    – Does Zuccarello regress (he's 35)
    – Can Gustavsson put up similar numbers when given more games
    – Can Fleury have a bounceback, especially if Gus' numbers drop (he's 38 so I doubt it)
    – Can the bottom nine (mainly Duhaime, Gaudreau, and Foligno) put up decent numbers to improve our depth offensively

As a fan, I suspect we will be regress, but I'm hopeful some of these things can happen to make the future brighter. That said, I don't think the loss of Dumba and Reaves was of any significance on the ice, but it certainly was in the locker room. Perhaps Maroon and Faber can make up for that.

  3. I see this as a bit of a…. transitional year for the Wild. Its by far the hardest season out of the dead cap era, and the main thing will be develop some of the extremely talented young prospect and the core of the team. Players like Kaprizov, Boldy, Faber and Gustavsson needs to continue to build on what they have done since joining the team and league. Players like Rossi and Addison needs to find their groove and take that step into the NHL from the AHL. If that happens, then even with another first round exit, i would say the season is an overall success when looking for things long term

  4. What is it with Grav mispronouncing Russian names? Almost made Kaprisov into two different words by the weird emphasis on Kap-REE-sov
