  1. Let me know your thoughts on todays discussion…Update to the part where i discussed the Pens and Panthers deal that fell through…its happening…another video coming soon

  2. Sadly, the Rangers will have to buyout Hank Lundqvist–as you stated, the goalies available this year makes him expendable , Tough choices for the Rangers regarding Hank L. hawks definitely need to lock up Dom K. The Backes contract is an albatross, and his play does not justify the cash.

  3. Montreal could offer Winnipeg: Domi, Mete, and Julsen and maybe a secound round draft pick for Laine.

  4. I like how mtl is always last ages me watch the whole episode to get my dose at the end.
Can't wait until trade deadline and draft

  5. Philadelphia fans.. would you do this trade…
    Wpg recieves Proverov and Konecny
    Phi recieves laine and stanley

  6. If winnipeg trades any forward it should be connor every day. Laine is way too good to trade

  7. You're looking at the Rangers' dead cap space next year in the wrong way. Yes it's $12.3M of dead cap space with a Hank buyout, but it's over $15M total cap space (dead space plus Hank's salary) if you don't. The year after that when Hank's dead cap space is $1.8M Shattenkirk's dead cap space shrinks from $6M to about $1.4M — so $12.3M in dead cap space next season becomes circa $4.3M the following year, freeing up $8M when the Rangers will need it most. It's a no-brainer. With those savings the Rangers will have about $18M in cap space this season to sign Strome, DeAngelo, Lemieux, Georgiev and the other 3-4 bottom tier players they'll need (which will probably consist mostly of ELC contracts — one being Lafreniere). I think it comes down to whether or not Strome and DeAngelo accept 2 year contracts instead of looking for the ultimate long term payday — and they should given the stagnant nature of the cap for the next few years.

  8. Well if Laine is looking to play top line and with the best players then Montreal is his best fit.
He will play on the top line with Suzuki. Have plenty of PP time. He basically will have no competition for his spot.

  9. Would it be a good idea for Edmonton to trade 2 of there dmen to Ottawa for Ottawas late first round draft pick

  10. u should show highlights while talking in background it would be a lot more interesting keep it up👍

  11. What are people thinking Taylor Hall would get in dollars and term? I'm not sure he would be a good fit in Calgary if he's too expensive.

  12. Laine to Montreal: Danault/Domi, Kulak/Mete, & a 2nd/3rd 2020 pick, & a later pick (6/7th) in 2021. If we send a 1st, then we should get a higher pick back in '21…(2nd/3rd). It would be beautiful!! 🏆🥇👍😎🤫

  13. Nobody is losing sleep about Matheson or whatshisname from Pitty. (Joke joke). They'll both get a new start; w/20% salary retained. (At least).

  14. Pittsburgh and Florida worked out the deal earlier today. Florida also sent Mike Matheson and Colton Sceviour to Pittsburgh for Patrick Hornquist. Colton would be a 4th line center.

  15. Backes looked good for them. I'm not surprised they are going to let him play. He worked really hard last year to get into shape. The Bruins just had too much depth at forward for it to make sense for him to have a slot.

  16. Laine would be good in Montreal but the Jets are probably asking for Suzuki and Romanov for him and that's not a trade Marc Bergevin is willing to make (with good reason).

  17. Help me understand Buyout. If a team buys out a player, that player can sign with another team but still retain the money from the team buying them out?. So if another team is interested they aren't giving up anything other than salary?

  18. I'm a Flames fan. I would take Taylor Hall at the cost the of trading Gaudreau all day, everyday and twice on Sunday. When he was in Edmonton, HE was the only decent piece there and in Jersey……well it's New Jersey, enough said. And Arizona couldn't win the Cup if they were the only team in the NHL. They're just a 4 alarm tire fire all the time. I don't care how many times they change owners. This current one will last a couple years, like the previous ones, and then we'll hear whining and squawking about losing money and then they'll sell to another sad sack and the process will repeat again. Just move them to Quebec City already. Like Winnipeg, they lost their team pre salary cap but now that costs are better contained (ie. player salaries) and predictable, they would flourish in Quebec and Montreal would get their natural rival back. There was no better hockey back in the day than Edmonton vs. Calgary and Quebec vs. Montreal. Toronto vs. Ottawa WISHES they could be that good but it's not even close. Just sell the team to Pierre Karl Peladeau of Quebecor already and let him move it. Why he never filed his expansion fee when Seattle did, I'll never know. $650 million is a drop in a bucket to that dude, especially if he gets a bunch of his rich friends together and forms a consortium or something.

  19. Monahan & Talbot or Giordano will be Traded for (Hall)

P.S. I am 90% sure that Flower will end up in Calgary too!!

  20. Patrik Laine and Dimitri Kulikov to the Montreal Canadiens for Max Domi, Ben Chariot, Victor Mete and a 4th round draft pick.

  21. The rangers may convince Hank to do a LTIR retirement. That way they can bury his cap this year and let him retire.

  22. Great commentary. Very well spoken. Of course I might be bias. That background looks exactly like my basement!😉😉 Fantastic channel.

  23. The Lundqvist buy out is to keep D'Angelo
They need about 5mil, they'll save 3mil if they buy out Hank
They already pay TDA 925k so they gotta pay just a little over a million to keep him

  24. If Winnipeg trade Laine to Montréal they would insist to have Cole Caulfield, plus Max Domi and Noah Juulsen or Victor Mete or others plus picks.

  25. This guy has no clue about the Flames. LMAO talks about how he he spent most of his time out East? What is he talking about.

  26. Patrik Laine is lazy. I watch every game; yes he's slightly improved, but not to where it should be. Needs to learn how to back check; it's no wonder that his HERO is the non-back checking Ovechkin…Send him away!

  27. I am a Flames fan. Past two years people have been saying how I must be excited for playoffs – I have said no they will not win in playoffs as long as they have Gudreau (playofff hockey is different rules that do not favor the wimps) Side note Gio – would be amazing if you challenged all the other teamnates nearing retirement to sign a 1 year deal for league minimum and huge bonuses for winning a cup (with a better goalie and one more elite defenseman the flames could challenge)

  28. Buyouts for Lundqvist and Fleury make sense to me. I think that the habs would be a good team to try and get Laine. They could do like Domi and Danault for Laine. That would make sense. I also think the New Jersey Devils would be a good team to go out and get Laine.
