  1. Don't get me wrong, I think this Hossa "game idea" is awesome – but a game?? I mean Hossa isn't dead, and usually when guys get together for games like this it's usually over bad news – this is the first time that I can remember where a game like this was played in honor of a player, instead of a benefit or something?… And it goes to show just how valuable Hossa was to this team, and how well he was liked and respected around the league – so I find this game truly endearing. I mean Hossa was certainly a shoe-in for the HOF – but on-ice he's not a top-10 player all-time or anything. Obviously he was one of the best 2-way players from his era, and a key player on 3 Stanley Cup Champions, but I still find it unusual a game was played in his honor…. Now of course I'm sure he's an absolute legend in Slovakia on par with Michael Jordan, so perhaps it makes sense from a regional perspective – and I'm sure the proceeds are going to a good cause..

And don't get it twisted, I think it's great – I just find it "unusual" that's all.

Also, Byfuglien is the size of an NFL offensive/defensive lineman and there is zero doubt in my mind he would have excelled at football if he went that route – and for a hockey player he's truly a freak of nature along the lines of Chara and other players that were physically "unique" and used their size – which made them a risky pick – to their advantage. Not only that but he was sooo skilled on his skates for a big guy, I mean he could fly at times like he was shot out of a cannon – and to be honest – I have no idea why he wasn't used more offensively – he could really destroy guys in front of the net, create chaos and given his size the goalie was essentially blind.. I suppose I feel his size wasn't utilized enough, because his size alone made him special…. And the funniest part is that there used to be this prospect website called "Hockey Futures" (the site has been dead for a long time now, but I will include a link below if it's still up) – it was one of the first prospect sites on the internet – where prospects were graded on "skill" and "potential" on a scale of 1 to 10 where "skill" is the number and "potential" to reach that number was graded from A-F (like a report card, Toews was a 9.0 "B", Crosby was a 10 "A" etc.) – and keep in mind this site was considered a "credible" prospect site back in the early-to-mid 2000's on par with the prospect sites that are credible today – and for the most part they were pretty accurate. Anyway, this site gave Byfuglien a prospect rating of 6.0 "F" which is in my opinion one of the WORST fails in scouting history because a 6.0 "F" basically translates into "having the 'tools' er 'skill-set' to develop into a #7 defensman, but NOT the potential" – yet we all know how that turned out, lol.. I suppose my point is that Buff did something amazing or he's one of the more physically and mentally unique players in recent history… I mean it blows my mind how someone can go from one of the worst prospects "ever" and become a Top 4 defenseman? it's insane.

Also, someone needs to buy Buff a Bra or get him a job at Hooters, lol.
