Pettersson heiskanen and makar shouldve been 1, 2 and 3.
This didnt age well since Makar and Heiskenen are clearly ahead of Petterson in terms of impact. He's obviously a great player but hes 3rd in his draft class for sure

I still remember his first year, a game against the Avalanche, he broke into the zone and pass to himself using the boards to score. His creativity is simply amazing.
I would say Colorado and Dallas don't regret their picks at all

Oh boy, watching this in 2022 kinda hurts considering that people were comparing him to Gretzky, i think that he still has it in him, but he became invisible
its feb 10th 2022 and petey has been in a slump this season but i feel like only me and a handfull of other nuck fans still have faith that its just a slump… yeah a bit of a longer slump but still, mind u the last few weeks since boudreau put him on Left Wing hes been picking up a bit still not the petey we know(Leading team in points) but hes gotten goals in the last 7 games i think 5 of them he got goals.. but idc what anyone says hes still our best forward…. him quinner n demko are our core rn, with miller, OEL and garland as our back, this team is almost perfect our coaching problem solved, other then cleaning up a defenceman and maybe 1 forward i wouldnt mess with anthing further then that

Watching this video after cale won the norris. It's the bias in me that gets mad at these kinds of things but I respect Elias petterson it's just his stats aren't as good as Cale Makars. His splits aren't as good as Cale's. Cale makar is arguably the best player on a team that's in the cup final this year. Elias is a great player I just wouldn't take him over Cale, especially after these last two years where Cale could have 2 norris trophies if a couple votes were changed

Jim Benning made terrible signings and some terrible trades but he did get lucky in the draft a few times. And he did make a couple decent trades.
Fast forward a couple years from when this was posted and while EP40 is turning into a monster centre Makar is such a unique and dominant dman that you have to take him first. He's the best we've seen since Lidstrom.
He doesn't go above 3 in a redraft
