GMDF: Episode 47 – Alexander Holtz – Player Spotlight
Good Morning Devils Fans
Jake shines a spotlight on Alexander Holtz. First talking about the path he took to becoming a New Jersey Devil, what his play on and off the ice looks like, and his thoughts on what to expect moving forward.
I know everyone has Mercer locked in as a top 6 wing for next year but what if they return him to center? Palat- Mercer- Holtz for a 3rd line? Holtz looked good with Hughes and Ondrej last preseason (could also be everyone looks good with Jack), this also gives Holtz someone his age to play with while not giving anything up defensively and adding speed.
Great video/take brother, I couldn't agree more. I do not think his skating is his weakness while it could be better, I definitely think it's his timing/decision making. I really feel being on a line with Palat & Haula would teach him the defensive side of the game very well. I have high hopes, but also a little spesimistic. I do feel like Bratt is the one player who is good enough to move down to 3rd line & really push/drive the offense for that line, & bump Holtz up to line 1 or 2. Toffoli also would be interchangeable from the top 6 I think depending on how well he fits in. We'll see, but will be a great season! Really looking forward to seeing Holtz development.
