I really don't mean to put down this whole new generation of players, but you can just tell from the way Monfils, Stan, and the few other OG’s remaining on the tour play when at their best/when they were the same age as these young guys, that their tennis is on another level. I believe this reflects the generation that they played in, how much more competitive it was considering that the courts were to a degree significantly faster than courts nowadays.

Musetti played the exact same way when he played Medvedev in Rogers Cup in Toronto. He got burned mercilessly with the dropshots. If I was his coaching staff, I would look for other alternatives trying to disrupt Medvedev in the future.

Does Tsitsipas ever hit anything cleanly? Whenever I watch his games, I get the impression that he hits the ball with every part of the racquet, except for the central sweet spot.

It is my opinion that although Shelton did not win, he is getting the most direct hard lessons with all of the top players he is facing in tournaments. If he learns what he did wrong, what worked and what he can improve, every tournament and every season he should get better. Time and youth are on his side.
When Lajovic is at his best, his game is wonderful, spectacular and efficient – he beat Djokovic at the final of Banja Luka ATP 2023 in an amazing match – and now Sinner 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
