He really put it together towards the end of last season. Hopefully he can take a big step this year.
He was rumored to have gotten a call up had he not gotten injured at the end of last year, fingers crossed he makes an impact in camp and we have to make a tough decision
I don’t think Yzerman is uncomfortable with trading out a guy like Maatta if someone like AlJo shows he has to be on the roster
I think people undersell how disappointing last year was for Aljo. He was albeit on a bad team, but there aren’t a lot of success stories for d-men his size and age who produced at the level he did last year in the AHL. I’m hopeful he can turn it around, but if he doesn’t establish himself this year, it’s only going to get harder to do so with such a crowded field of prospects at his position.
