I’m retooling my Islanders prospects rankings, and while it’s not done yet I wanted to discuss the early results, the next steps to address some of the early concerns and to hear some feedback.

Hi Mich. Hoping Raty turns out to be Somebody and we get some talent in this coming draft
I commend you on your work and modeling, but I can't agree with the results. I think it probably over-emphasizes points and point differentials over COVID-shortened seasons. You have the top ten as:
(1) Jeffries; (2) Bolduc; (3) Berg; (4) Ishakov; (5) Dufour; (6) Newkirk; (7) Salo; (8) Vande Sompel; (9) Adams; (10) Durandeau
Jeffries (4th Rd. 2020), Berg (4th Rd. 2021), Dufour (5th Rd. 2020), Newkirk (5th Rd. 2019), Adams (6th Rd. 2016, 5'9") and Durandeau (6th Rd. 2017) are all mid to low round forward picks who are unlikely to ever see the NHL. Ishakov is a very small player, and his point increase could be the result of being back in Europe playing on the larger ice surface.
As for the defensemen, I agree with Bolduc and Salo, but disagree on Vande Sompel who was 0-5-5, -19 in 20 games last year in BDGPT while Bode Wilde – who clearly has better skills – was 3-3-6, -3 in 22 games played.
When evaluating whether a kid is a prospect likely to succeed in the NHL, size, vision, skill, skating and character are all important, more important maybe than points and individual year growth.
My top 5 would be: (1) Bolduc; (2) Raty; (3) Wilde; (4) Holmstrom; and (5) Salo. Honorable mention to Aho (if he still qualifies) and Ljungkrantz. Those are the guys I think have a real shot at making it.
where is Aatu Raty
