  1. Ylonen is pronounced /Why-Lu-Oo-Nun/

Interesting enough, Suzuki is pronounced / Shud-Jew-Key / in his native Japanese prefecture. The prefecture next to his native one they pronounce it (Su-Dud-Us-Oo-Key)

  2. So for a guy getting paid $10.5M to play a game, it's considered "working hard" to work out every day in the offseason? Must be nice. Here I am working out every day for a desk job…

  3. Bahl is a solid signing. Has size and is good in d zone. And was a high note in the playoffs as far as defensive defensemen.

  4. They should have just let Ylonen go he is not good enough.
I really like Bahl I don't consider him a depth D man I consider him a 4/5 guy he won't hurt yo uif on the second pairing and imo even capable of first line play he just doesn't create offense. However with Nemec and he is really good as well it will drop Bahl's ice time to likely 2rd or 4th line.IMO at 1 mil Bahl is a steal I'd take him on my team.
Terry is in the same boat as Nick and Cole of th eHabs only he has proven more and the habs and their fanbois THINK Nick and Cole are great contracts at 8 million which of course is ludicrous. However if people actually think Nick and Cole's contracts are really good then Terry must be worth 9-10 million >>see the problem again ludicrous.
Nick and Cole ar 6 mil players and imo Terry is abotu the same but proven to be worth a bit more so there you have it.
I said when Huberdeau arrived that he NEEDS goal scorers because he is just a passer not a goal scorer.

  5. Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't an arb award walk Terry to UFA status next year? What's to say he wants to stick around with a team that is still 3-4 years away from competitiveness, especially after as harsh as arb hearings are known to be?

  6. Sad a great goalie like Gus is going to waste his prime in Minnesota šŸ˜¢

  7. After Terry gets sorted out, itā€™s going to ser the tone for Zegras and Drysdaleā€™s contracts too.

  8. Ottawa traded Gus who took off with the Wild, then they proceed by overpaying Korpisalo. Dorion's time is up.

  9. I was thinking 2 years at $3.5M for Gus would be a good deal for both sides, but putting him $250K above Fleury makes a statement and if things go well, $3.75M for that 3rd year should be a bargain.

  10. Considering the Ducks are under the cap floor, they should just pay the guys and finish putting their roster together. This is ridiculous.

  11. I really Really hope the Bruin's get a deal done with Swayman!!!!!! I can't lose Bergie and Swayman in 1 off season

  12. Still can't believe the pens traded him considering our goalie situation currently.. like what the hell

  13. Ylonen should try to get to another NHL team where his speed and skill will be used. Montreal has an issue developing Scandinavian players, outside of Koivu many years ago.

  14. Terry is wild. Heā€™s good but heā€™s definitely not 8mil a season good.

  15. Didnā€™t arbitration use to be a choice of team or player submission? No middle ground, just pick one or the other.

  16. I think it is very encouraging to hear how seriously Huberdeau is taking the off-season, and his new contract. He's getting paid to be the guy, and seeing him act like it is definitely a positive.

  17. With 12 teams over the cap and 71 days until the puck drops, it would be an interesting video to see how creative teams get to reach compliance historically. How many LTIRs are they allowed? Can last minute waivers for purpose of contract termination be used? More contract buyouts? What about the alleged rule that you can only be 10% over the cap during the summer? Bending, if not breaking, the cap tiles seems to become part of the ā€œgame.ā€

  18. it's just so very strange that Anaheim has apparently decided to play hardball with it's two young star players. i truly don't get it. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

  19. Year 1- Gus & Fleury
    Year 2-Gus & Wallstedt/cheap FA backup
    Year 3-Gus & Wallstedt/cheap FA backup

This is a marvelous contract for a lot of parties. Gus gets paid (hopefully not his last) and Wallstedt gets time to develop in Iowa and can slowly get NHL experience til ready.

  20. "Depth defenseman, huge defenseman."

Huge is an understatement for Bahl compared to the other Devils, he is 6'5 230lbs for anyone who doesnt know

  21. Huberdeau should at least bounce back to an 80 point year….I doubt he will ever touch 100 points with the Flames.

  22. Terry's agent is way overshooting the mark with 8 a season. 5-6 seems more than reasonable considering the next contract will be ufa

  23. $4.5 million for Terry is insulting. This is why Arbitration is so bad for a team's relationship with the players.

  24. Troy Terry thinks he's worth 8m when he only has 61 points in 70 games is insane LOL, He's not even a point per game guy, never has been, never will be either…

  25. Everyone opining on Terry's arbitration should keep in mind that 8 mil is his ask for arbitration and the Duck's offer is 4.5 mil for arbitration. Shannon is correct is that this is an unusually high gap, but it may not be reflective of what either side is willing to settle for. Arbitration sets up an artificial situation where both sides are trying to impress a third party who will ultimately impose a decision about what is fair. Assuming that the arbitrator's default is to split the difference between the two sides, it encourages the player to go high and the team to go low. This is different from the MLB system, in which the arbitrators must pick one offer or the other; the MLB system encourages both sides to be reasonable when they set out their initial offer while the NHL system does not.

  26. If I were Troy Terry I'd take the $4.5 mill and run. He's a year younger than Nylander, never played a full season, and his has never hit 70 points in a season (60+ twice). His agent must be dreaming in 4K, Dolby sound.

  27. Terry certainly shooting for the stars on how much money he wants lol.

Iā€™m pretty sure Huberdeau bounces back this coming season but not sure if Iā€™m the only one but I donā€™t think he hits 100+ points again. I think that 115 point year he had in Florida was just a super good year but was an outlier . I think heā€™s a 75-85 point player . Which is still great . Could definitely see him hitting 80+ this coming season.
