  1. Need to stay healthy dcore is the strong part of the team imo, depth got better, improved goaltending. I'm optimistic for this season but also realize the Atlantic will be tough to get into the playoffs. Provlem is of course the coaching as it was last season the systems are brutal DJ is a great guy but hes not the coach for this team if they get off to a rough start and DJ gets fired it could be a good thing for the team over the course of the season

  2. I think Ottawa will finish 5th in the division behind Toronto, Florida, Buffalo, and Tampa Bay. But I think they might be ahead of Boston, and may make the playoffs as the 2nd Wild Card if they can be ahead of the 4th and 5th place Metro teams.

  3. The Senators upgraded their top 4 D so much from the start of last season that they will shock a lot of people. Basically Chychrun for Zaitsev and not needing a rookie as a top 6 C is also huge. Pinto was good but he isnt Norris.

This Sens team is playoff bound and then… wtf is Brady gunna be like in playoffs lmao

  4. The first 5-10 games will make or break this team. DJ Smith has had the squad limping out of the gate for the past 5 seasons, and his systems and ability to adapt on the fly are non-existent. If the sens don't win 5 out of those first 10 games, he's got to go. I think Ottawa has much better higher-end talent than the Red Wings and potentially better than the Sabres, but goaltending needs to be strong and Sanderson needs to keep improving. The Atlantic is just such a bloodbath, and if Ottawa misses out on the playoffs I would not be surprised. WC 1 or 2 is probably their best hope.

  5. A strong start is a necessity at this point. DJ Smith's leash needs to be capped at 12 games if we don't see substantive improvements out of the gate.

  6. They are 4th/5th in their division. Coach and gm is what is holding them back.

  7. One of the most bipolar teams when it comes to predictions. Anywhere from 3rd to 7th from what I have seen. Personally, the bottom six is a little lacking and I don't trust Korpisalo. Although they'll be in the hunt, 6th in the division with 88-93 points.

  8. i thought i hallucinated the Chychrun deal since you didn't mention him at all lmao id think his health and a whole year of him would help

  9. Theyve improved their forward depth, their top 4 d looks as good as it has since Chara left.. the only question i have is if Korpisalo can play as well as hebdidbdownbthe stretch last year.. if he can the Sens should be able to make the playoffs

  10. Ottawa and Buffalo looking forward to both teams taking next step into playoffs…both franchises no Cup Winners…Brady playing well not quite at Matthews level yet but eventually expecting it….both teams Goaltending ❓

  11. stutzle a legit star that doesn’t get credit from anyone outside of sens fans. has anyone watched him play??? I mean seriously this dude is one of the most talented players in the sport

i think they need depth scoring and their defense looks better on paper than it actually is. forsberg is a legit 1b goalie. proved that again lasts year. korpi a legit 1a. definitely a boom or bust team

  12. The most glaring problems for the Senators last season were goaltending and defense and there have been some improvements in both of those areas. The biggest loss was DeBrincat's offence which could be replaced by the return of Norris. The team is better than last year and has a legitimate shot at making the playoffs if they start well.

  13. Not a Sens fan, but I am so hyped for this team this year! No, I didn’t learn from last season. With Chychrun and Tarasenko they will be even better at 5 on 5. The net worries me, but I think they’ll be a lot of fun to watch!

  14. still needs a reliable goalie, korpi could do it but kinda unlikely and forsberg is forsberg

  15. Do LW normally get blocked shots? I'm not surprised Brady's numbers are low because he's usually ready to go on a breakaway. D usually get blocked shots.
