Dougie Hamilton and his family are probably thanking their lucky stars that he wears a visor after it absorbed a vicious one-timer on Saturday and likely saving some bones in his face.
Ow! That would have definitely hurt without a visor. Weird why you don't wear cages in the NHL, or full facial shields. Goalies wear masks to protect against shots like this.

Thank god we have visors
It amazes me how some players can still be against the use of visors. It could save your sight, your eyes, heck, even your life.

This is why the NHL has mandated visors for all new players in the league.
