Why I Want: Alexander Holtz – The Draft’s BEST & ELITE Goal Scorer (2020 NHL Draft Prospects)

We already covered one of the Super Swedes from this 2020 NHL Entry Draft in Lucas Raymond, so let’s cover another in Alexander Holtz. In today’s video, we’re taking a look at the best goal scorer of the draft, right up there with the Ottawa 67’s Jack Quinn. Holtz is a guy who’s been highly touted for years as a guy with elite finishing ability, and a guy who could pot goals and goals and goals. Whichever team takes him is getting a potential 40-goal guy, and someone that’s going to bring the fans off of their feet.

The draft is stacked with guys like Alexis Lafrenière at the top, with Quinton Byfield, Tim Stützle, Lucas Raymond, Alexander Holtz, Jamie Drysdale, Marco Rossi, Cole Perfetti, Jake Sanderson, and Yaroslav Askarov rounding out the top 10. The rest of the draft has a ton of great talent as well, like Anton Lundell, Kaiden Guhle, Dawson Mercer, Braden Schneider, Dylan Holloway, Hendrix Lapierre, Connor Zary, Justin Barron, Jack Quinn, John-Jason Peterka, William Wallinder, Rodion Amirov, Jacob Perreault, Seth Jarvis, Ty Smilanic, Jeremie Poirer, Noel Gunler, Mavrik Bourque, Lukas Reichel, Tyler Kleven, Ridly Greig, Justin Sourdif, Shakir Mukhamadullin, Jake Neighbours, Luke Tuch, Helge Grans, Jan Mysak, Michael Benning, and Antonio Stranges.

The current NHL Draft Lottery odds, go in order as the Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks (Senators), Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes (Devils), Minnesota Wild, Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks (Devils), Nashville Predators, Toronto Maple Leafs (Hurricanes), Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders (Senators), Dallas Stars, Carolina Hurricanes (Rangers), Pittsburgh Penguins (Wild), Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning (Sharks), Colorado Avalanche, Vegas Golden Knights, Washington Capitals, St. Louis Blues, and Boston Bruins (Ducks).

  1. Who ever drafts egor sokolov is going get a steal he’s the biggest guy in the draft has probably one of the best hands and shot in the draft. He is in his draft+1 year but he put up 92 points and had close to 50 goals in the qmjhl

  2. I gotta say, as a Habs fan, that would be a huge dilemma if either Holtz or Raymond was available at 8th overall. Holtz will be a scoring machine, and gives is 100% every shift. Raymond has such crazy good hands and vision, with elite skating. Raymond and Stutzle are comparable when it comes to dekes and flashy plays.

  3. we get this years first round right consider we technically “didn’t” make the playoffs

  4. A video about Dmitri Ovchinnikov? I think this kid is a late round gem and could be something real special.

  5. What do you think about Seth Jarvis. He’s ranked in the 20-30 range on most rankings but he has great numbers and a ton of skill. To me if he goes any later than 15 he’s a steal

  6. Legit question.. has there been any information regarding the draft lottery? I thought it was supposed to be on the 9th.

  7. He plays in the SHL. 9 goals in 30 games in SHL is like 40 goals in 30 game in the CHL

  8. I'm curious how the draft will work. With Trump hoping for sports to resume in August I'm losing faith for a season. Personally it should be our right to gather as long as your symptom-free and have had no contact that you are aware of. Obviously the old and frail should stay home but for the rest who are healthy and careful it should be our choice. Let's be real here, 50.000 people die in the States every year from the flu 647.000 in the 17 most developed countries every year. Shutting the world down over a virus that has a very low death toll especially in the demographic of 18-60.
Since my opinion means squat and if the season is cancelled, the only fair way is to have 2 lottterys. One for the worst 3 teams based on points% and one for the rest of the league. It would be totally unfair if we had to lose a pick based on points% when we currently sit 9th. As for traded picks they should all be deferred by a year if said team chooses that option.

  9. Take a second to breath boys, and listen. Think: Holtz and Caufield on the habs P.P. 🤯😱, your next Kucherov and Stamkos 1-2 punch 🥊

  10. The shl is a lowscoring league with coaches who dosnt like to play the prospects in big roles. Fagemo for example was playing in a pretty small role but was still amazing in the national team

  11. Am I the only one that thinks that Byfield will take some time to become the 2nd best player in the draft? I think it might take him up to 4-7 years for him to become that nr 1 center.

  12. This in, no one has Holtz going top 5 in 2020, which tells you how INSANELY deep this draft is. Consensus Top 8 players all have legitimate superstar potential. I see Holtz as 7 or 8. Raymond is way more shifty and more dynamic. Holtz can create his own offence though and really stick handle and even though not as good as Raymond skating wise, he is a very good skater and fast, just not in Stutzle/Raymond dynamic skating or puck skillz combo. Those 2 have insane shiftiness and edge work, not just fast. Rossi has similar edge work and might even have better balance on the puck, but he ain’t as explosive a skater as these 2. So if you were to ask me those 3 are amongst the best on their skates at the top of this draft.

I personally think Drysdale is the most impressive and complete all around Dman to come out of the CHL and OHL for sure since Daughty. His game and demeanour and extremely high all around IQ is very similar to Drew in Guelph at the same age. That dude is going top 5 and in any other year top 2
