Should’ve is a strong word for this. Could’ve is a better word, but no proof yet that Slaf isn’t the best pick for MTL in 2022. Thats just my 2 sense

Too early to even discuss
No disrespect of Cooley but hard to say if Habs should have picked him. Have to remember Cooley has not played a NHL game yet have to wait and see how he does when he plays in the NHL. I am not saying Cooley will not be good when he 1st plays a game but until he plays we have nothing to compare him with Slaf until both players play about 5 seasons hard to say who is the better player. I do expect good things from Cooley however until he plays in the NHL we can't say forsure.
These scouts picked Slaf should've been fired now. These same guys picked Reinbacher over Michkov again this year.
It's going to be impossible to say Slaf was the wrong choice because of how poorly they handled his rookie year.
