  1. Greatest goal of all time!!!
In today's NHL they would have stopped play to call a hooking penalty… that was real hockey !! Not to mention back then players didn't whine and complain because they were hit.
Not like the pussys that play today

  2. And the NHL votes Bobby Orr's goal against St. Louis as the greatest goal?!
I don't think so. This goal, along with Ovechkin's scoring while lying down, rate as the greatest of all time!

  3. Just check out all those hard hooking here… It would be fun to see a random young "superstar" from today playing on that era of NHL, plus using the equipments of that time also! I bet that almsot none had managed to still standing up after the first hooking, just considering of how damn light and thin the players are in nowadays!
The players was indeed so so so much tougher and stronger then compared with now, so that's not even fun! Players like Eric Lindros and Mario Lemieux had been forbidden to playing in NHL now, since both was so incredibly much bigger, heavier and stronger than like 99.9% (it's probably 100% honestly) of non-goalie players in nowadays!

  4. i was at this game; it was near the end of the 2nd period. Denny got a standing ovation after the goal; then got ANOTHER standing ovation when he came back up on the ice for the start of the 3rd period!

  5. Notice how Denis Savard was hooked with a stick at the beginnig of the sequence. Common gesture at the time, but disappeared in today's hockey since the NHL decided to automatically give 2 minutes of penalty.
