  1. And he still isn’t the worse 1st rounder they took. Years before they took some outside line backer out of, I think, Illinois that got benched in his first game because he was a so out of control and emotional. That was weird game to watch and very disappointing. No clue as to his name anymore.

  2. 2017 Browns pick Miles Garrett #1
2018 Browns pick Nick Chubb #36
2017 Stealers pick TJ Watt #27

    These were safe picks

  3. I grew up with AC and I hate hearing him called a bust but the last time I talked to him he was done playing and said his desire was in coaching. He seems to have transitioned into that life really well and is getting better every year. I told him he'll be a HC one day and he laughed and said slow down

  4. Pete Carroll then hired him as an assistant linebackers coach and he is currently the inside LB coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  5. He didn't have the fire. He got paid and then chilled. I worked out with him in Seattle, he was just there to do his job and collect his pay check. (He was the highest paid defensive rookie at the time)

  6. New coach (Pete Carroll) came in the year after he was drafted. Whole new franchise. A lot of player success is tied up in fit within the franchise.

  7. Amazing how stories like this pop up every year. Yet we still hype every player up before they've even played a possession.

  8. This goes to show that there is a clear defined line between college and the NFL. Sink or swim

  9. Before this years draft, so many Seahawks fans were dropping "safe pick" left and right for Anderson and Carter. I brought up Curry numerous times, but was told they all knew Curry was going to be a bust…of course you can predict a bust AFTER THE FACT. When all I was hearing was "safe pick" then and again this past draft, I'm glad they went out of their confort zone and mixed up the draft process for PC/JS

  10. Idk what crazier, this guy flaming out or the fact that people STILL argue bad teams should take others positions over a high upside QB because of the bust risk and “ability to take a QB later”

  11. This is a strange opinion but one that I hold strongly: Andrew Luck was a monumental bust. Peyton Manning played the same amount of games (in Denver) as Luck did. Manning made the playoffs every year and 1-1 in super bowls. Billed as better than Peyton and Tom coming in. Handed Peyton’s franchise and he struggled to win a very easy division year over year before retiring after 5 years of real ball.

  12. KJ turned out to be an absolute beast, but he still has gronk's name tattoos on his ass

  13. There is no such thing as floor when it comes to prospects. The only thing anyone should ever scout for is ceiling. If you are scared of the high ceiling players that means you dont have faith in your coaching staff

  14. My football watching was in hiatus between the Holmgren and Carroll eras, so I never heard of this guy. When I saw this, I immediately thought of Brian Bosworth, also a linebacker, a first round draft pick, signed for an unprecedented rookie contract, and an even bigger bust than Curry. The most memorable image from his career was a sign held up by a fan in the stands saying "Bosworthless".

  15. Dude I remember him and thinking this dude is quick but damn to see how his career played out is nasty.

  16. I'm more disappointed in the housmanzatah Bengal wr signing to be honest mora was a joke but glad he did get fired for pete Carroll

  17. It’s also how you handle it too. If Peyton Manning had played how he played his first year by today’s standards, he wouldn’t have lasted the first season as the starting quarterback. Peyton went 3-13 as a starter his first year. But the next year, he became the Peyton that we know and love, because he took advantage of the opportunity he’d been given, and practically obsessed over his command of the offense. Some of these QBs don’t learn fast that you have to do everything better, cleaner, faster, and smarter than the other guy, on the biggest stages possible, and for that, you have to completely immerse yourself into it. Peyton Manning did, and he’s now a two time SB winner because of it.

  18. Players can be the best college player of all time in college and not make it in the NFL. Ryan Leaf is another player. We dont know if a player can make it to the next level until they do.

  19. Curry broke my heart, as a Seahawks fan … He was such a monster in college, just never panned out in the pro’s …

  20. I knew Seattle was gonna make him do shit he wasn't accustomed to and they did. At wake he had success as a 4-3 edge rusher, did the Hawks use him there? Nope. They forced him to be a 4-3 off ball linebacker. Then in year two they go "ok let's put him on the edge more" but Curry already lost a few pounds to be better in coverage on top of not working on pass rush moves at all, he was set up to fail. So he was smaller in yr 2, not as strong and got bullied on the edge. So the hawks put him back at LB and the same damn thing happened. He didn't work on off ball drills at all and got torched in coverage and became 100 percent a liability. If he went somewhere that let him do the same exact things he did at WF I bet he woulda put up 8-10 maybe 12 sacks a season for 7 or 8 seasons

  21. I'm just glad to hear someone actually understand how skill floors work

  22. Off ball Linebacker is actually a very hard position to project. Not only is it a lower value position but it has a high bust rate.
