  1. Sharks will be the next team that “rushed” Zadina into the NHL.
And 50 million Slovakian currency, Sweden uses Euro’s.

  2. I remember Zadina saying something (in an article) to the effect that he needed to be in Detroit not Grand Rapids so he could showcase his talent. Bottom line is he was not good enough and it's not going to be any easier for him with the Sharks.

  3. In other words The Montréal Canadien was alright to not select him as #3 but they should have taken Brady Tkatchuk instead. Tkatchuk went to Ottawa. Habs select Jesperi Kokaniemi at #3 instead.

  4. Give me a break Zadina! When do the Red Wings rush any of their prospects up from their farm sysytem?

  5. The Wings absolutely mishandled him. He got rushed, put in a situation he really wasn't ready for, and just didn't develop the way we as fans would've liked to see. I'm glad he kinda takes accountability here (I had to put the article through Google Translate; I'm learning Norwegian, not Swedish), and I do hope the Sharks give him a chance to grow, to become even a minor star for them, and I want to see Zadina have success too. The kid was a trooper, but I think he saw the writing on the wall in Detroit, and leaving the money on the table like that was preferable to playing in Grand Rapids all season.

As I've said before, I really do wish him the absolute best. I can't say I expect the Wings media team to put together an in-arena tribute or anything when the Sharks come to town (7 December), but I hope the fans who can be there give him a hearty welcome!

  6. Detroit don't rush prospects now. With Stevie. But with how horrible the team was, and with 3rd and 4th line garbage. How could you be noticable. Maybe if you were Sidney, leon, Conner M, or B….he betting on himself! Hope he succeeds! Rub it in Detroit face for being bottom of the barrel for 7 years. Not a real hockey player even commented I'm sure!!!!

  7. Zadina is a headcase that got mad when he wasn't playing in the NHL yet blames the Red Wings for putting him in the NHL???? He will not have any better of a time with the Sharks. He needs to look at himself before he blames the Red Wings. I for one am glad he is gone! The wings are a better team for it!

  8. I think he still has the skills to be a top 6 guy but his issue is all mental.
Maybe playing more "freely" will get him past the mental block. I got no hard feelings and wish him the best in SJ.
Only 4 remain from the Holland era

  9. I’m a wings fan and I’m sure it wasn’t fun to play on the team the last 5 years. It hasn’t been very fun to watch them, either.

I do think that they will be very, very fun to watch the wings this year and that people aren’t expecting what’s about to happen.

  10. If Montreal passes on me gonna fill their net with pucks which he didn't couldn't fill anyone's net just whining and blaming everyone for his poor play

  11. He definitely wasn't rushed. When he was still a minor, Steve gave him the option to burn the last of his ELC or stay in GR. He chose to come up to Detroit.

  12. I love my Wings and they have sucked, but he was not rushed. I do wish him luck, though. SY re-signed him, so the Wings believed in him and everyonewas cool with that, but he gave up a lot of money to get a fresh start and that's also cool. But, he was not at all rushed.

  13. Nothing but love for Zadina. Having his career start with Blashill and all the roster juggling EVERY GAME was terrible. Can’t say I blame him for feeling this way. Best of luck to him in SJ.

  14. Nope not rushed at all. He just shot less than 7% in his last 160 games. He literally walked off the draft stage gripping his stick too tight, more concerned he wasn't taken in the first 5 picks than appreciative he was on the Red Wings. If Holland didn't fall for the "Best Player Available" stupidity, we might have Quinn Hughes right now. Glad Stevie always picks HIS player, rather than Bob or Doug McKenzie's.

  15. typical yzerman ruining prospects, whole franchise is a mess to be honest, imagine being 5 years into rebuild and still finishing 7th i your division lol
