The reason that the Leaf fans have the reputation they have is largely attributable to the pathetic homers of TSN and RSN. They claim to be “ national” but in reality are parochial Toronto obsessed homers.
The language barrier saves you guys from having to deal with the craziest habs fans by far, we also don’t share the same medias for the same reason so the vast majority of you guys aren't aware ….. a 4th liner (Paul Byron) maybe helping someone in a plane crash in the middle of summer can be hyped up for weeks, hockey is also almost considered a religion here not simply a sport. Habs fan are easily the craziest ones among active franchises.
Only one fanbase is crazier its the Nordiques, they dont even need a team to be what they are.
1. Flyers – Philly fans in general take things too far
2. Canucks – You know why
3. Habs – Angry in 2 languages
4. Leafs – Hysteria + volume

Canucks have the reputation of starting a riot after loosing a cup…I think Leafs nation would do the same thing. Habs fans are as passionate about hockey as they love their team. Bruins fans do not like anyone else but the Bruins. My money is on Leafs. I think they would go out of control if their team lost in the finals. Edit: Montreal has the biggest fan base in Canada though, when they walk into a building in Florida or anywhere in Canada, half the building is habs fans usually.
There's a reason Leafs and Habs fans are the top 2 they just have bad reputations especially the Habs I've seen and heard a lot of things about the Habs obviously not all but unfortunately people just make those generalizations but also just the size of the fanbases more likely to have more of those bad apples
Being English knowing the chants we have here in sports it makes leafs fans look like nothing
I'm from the 'Bert and can say as a FAN of the game, I'd rather have a sister in a whore house then a brother playing for the Leafs. FANS in all sports tend to talk some shit. Now me as a HOCKEY PLAYER, if the Leafs ever need a 6th line mucker & come calling I'd be pulling on that Blue & White so fast. You could be the biggest Rangers FAN growing up but if you get drafted by the Devils all that Ranger Love just got put on the backest of burners.

Prob the worst part about sports besides injuries. Generalizing a fanbase shows more about you then the people you are talking about. Not all fans are toxic. I wish these fans in sports went away. Sports would be a million times more enjoyable

The olé chant after road game wins is true. I don't understand the problem with it, however. Just fans celebrating their team's win. Let people enjoy their evening.

As a Habs fan I got to say that when MTL was playing in the old forum before moving to the bell center was the best but now the crowd is filled with men in suits that got free tickets and are not as passionate as the average joe.

Being a Sens fan who was born in 1991 in Ottawa when the team came back.
Always had to deal with the Obnoxious leafers that refused to convert over.
Now living in the GTA. I've learned that most leaf fans refuse to accept that Ottawa has triple more wins in the playoff in the last 2 decades. Then they do.

As a lifelong Habs fan, I can admit that at least half of the rest of the fan base drives me absolutely insane. The amount of good players the fans and media have run out of town through the years is insane. Read pretty much any comment section on social media pertaining to the Habs, and a good portion of the commenters are ripping on guys like Price, Gallagher, etc…guys that have given their heart and soul to the franchise, and bleed red white and blue. I try and not read comment sections, but can’t help it sometimes.

I have to say Oilers because I’m bias but I think Toronto fans there crazy they wear their hearts on their sleeves and bleed blue blood. We make fun of them but there the most passionate and loyal fanbase
