I do not think what Marchand did "was part of the game," I have no idea why Marchand is so protected by the NHLPA.
Funny how he's like yep its just Stick n Puck kinda attitude. If this was at ur local Stick n Puck rink it wouldn't be a thought. But nhl center stage..every occurrence n every save is so amplified.

I would have asked why the captain of your team didnt stick up for you, or anyone else for that matter. This is how you lose playoff games.
This was such a BS response. I wish he called it like it was, 2 dirty cheap shots from one of the league's dirtiest players. I actually lost respect for him after this. The whole world knows he's lying and that punching a goalie in the head and then jabbing your stick in his face is not just "part of the game". Obviously the department of players safety didn't think it's "part of the game" either since they handed down a six game suspension. Maybe Jarry should be a politician instead of a goalie. Amazing how many of you are saying someone has class for getting up in front of a bunch of reporters and bold faced lying.
The fact that not one Penguins player came to their goalies aid shows how soft the NHL has become. while a A lot of teams would have gone after him immediately or at least when he high sticked Jarry, Marchand does what he does because he can hide behind the refs & the rules w/o fear of retribution. Lost a ton of respect for Crosby — as the “Captain” of the team, he was the closest to Marchand & he did absolutely nothing.

Hockey players are too damn diplomatic. "I think it's perfectly fine that he took off his skate and tried to slash Mike Sullivan's throat during the commercial break. It's just passion in the heat of the moment. I see a driven guy just trying to make a hockey play."
I like that he didn't even know what the guy meant: "Ah, whadya mean…?"

The Olympic Women's Teams ALL play harder and faster and more competitive than the Men in the NHL. The NHL is so watered down now, I don't even watch any games whatsoever, and I never buy Tickets anymore, and go watch what used to my favourite Sport. HOCKEY IS BORING!!! There's ZERO Competition. Youngsters play competitive hockey their whole lives up into Juniors and Juveniles, then if they get drafted into the NHL, the competitiveness is stripped out of their game, and everyone floats around at 2/3— 3/4 speed taking it easy, and very few if any players actually try. Its not for me anymore, but if people want to pay for and Bet on it, C'est la Vie!

Marchand was 1000% right on this. Notice that Crosby didn't do a thing to Marchand, he was what his goalie did. Hockey ethics baby. Marchand gets his share as well. This time he was right.

Being oblivious to both Marchand's sucker punch AND stick poke indicates that Tristan Jarry lacks Stanley Cup level sharp instincts in the Crease, as puck after puck would easily go by him with nary a notice. Also, it's the NHL where fights started by Men should be settled on the Ice, by the same Men. Period.
It's a case of the pot calling the kettle black, as Pens' GM Ron Hextall targeted Montreal's Chris Chelios in an '89 playoff game, knocking him down and out senseless on the Ice in his Flyers' days, ironically as Philly's Goalie coming out of the Crease to avenge a prior hit by Chelios against Flyers' Brian Propp resulting in a Concussion and KOing him from further playoff games. What's next, remaking the NHL into the NFL's game of dolls in dresses???
If anyone cares, Jarry yelled "How about that (*(#*$($ save!!" to Marchand before he got sucker punched, per the NHLPA document submitted to the hearing. There must have been a lot more going on during the game that we don't know about, but I wish we could hear more of the trash talking between teams during a game. Makes it so interesting!!!! Edit: If you replay the videos on YouTube you can probably hear Jarry yelling something right before Marchand loses it.
Just had a startling revelation: Tristan Jarry looks like the grownup version of the kid in Almost Famous, and even sounds like him.
Getting punched by Marchand doesn’t hurt because he is a 5’8” vagina.
