  1. It's totally understandable that the coaching staff was concerned with this direction. Kuzmenko went with a highly irregular off-season program. I'd be concerned too.

This might be a reach, but I'm imagining Kuzmenko's response being roughly, "Trust me, bro".

  2. I feel like Kuzemnko is one of those people who thrives in weird. He seems ADHD to me, and functions kind of different from the average person. I know that because of my ADHD, pretty much nothing that is "normal" works for me.
So, I'm trusting him to know what works best for him. We'll see how it goes.
As for his ceiling – I feel like people often forget that chemistry with linemates is just as important as own skill. With Kuzi, Petey, and Mikheyev all together for, hopefully, 82 games, I think all three could blow their previous records out of the water if everyone stays healthy.

  3. Happy to hear he’s smart enough to not be anywhere near Russia.

He’s modestly rich for first time? And he’s looked fairly ripped all summer? What’s the issue?

I doubt the Canucks give a ruble what he does in the off season, they’re thinking about hot dog prices and making money. And don’t forget, this is an owner willing to let Virtanen be dropped off at camp in a wheelbarrow year after year..
