Habs were in a tough position, they couldn't trade back because Arizona was gonna take him at 6. I saw AZ going the dman route after trading Chychrun but thought if MTL took Reinbacher they would've went with Gulyayev instead of Simashev.
You should check out the one the Blues released
a lot of the same things being said about Reinbacher were said about Sanderson and Seider they were both expected to have limited offensive upside but both exploded after their draft wouldn't surprise me to see Reinbacher do that it's tough for some players that are more defensive minded to stand out at both sides of the ice at a young age but break out once they get more comfortable/similar age to most players in their league

apparently florian just got to his OHL camp and he is now 6'4 isnteadf of 6'2, florian is a long shot to be anything spectacular but i wouldnt be stunned at all if he was a 4th line energy guy
Xhekaj showed up the the Brampton Bulldogs camp today at 6ft 4 and apparently he’s put on a lot of muscle. Really hoping for a big year from him.
Excited for Reinbacher, saw him play in person at the Habs development camp a week after he was drafted. He definitely stood out amongst the Habs defense prospects and he paired well with Hutson.
I hope any of the Habs goalie prospects "hit". Fowler is definitely going to be interesting to watch I hope he makes the U20 WJC in a year or two with that other USA goalie Augustine. Boston College might be really good if Will Smith, Cutter Gauthier + Fowler have a good year.
I don't like the system used to make these decisions maybe that's why they have been so consistently bad in the draft for the past 30 years.I want a list from my scouts then I will go out and see those players live and make a decision.I do not believe in stupid interviews that are full of dumb questions.IDC one iota about goalies there is not a goalie on the planet who can turn a bad team into a contender goalies are ALWAYS as good as the team in front of them.
It should have been VERY obvious to Gorton and hHghes that the Habs are set everywhere except at forward so al picks should have been forwards.

Those psychological questions reminded me of ones that I had during a week-long job training/interview process I went through.
Failed to get one of six positions, due to 'wrong type of personality' (introverted yet can be too bubbly).
Fun fact, the head of comunication for the Canadiens is Chantale Machabée, a sport journalist who's trying to bring transparency to the system of the team. She's giving us this kind of video!
"he's a unicorn" is such a weird rationale to draft a player, and I'm not so sure cup winners are built with just a group of guys with rare profiles
Habs draft character Mitckov is a douche might be great but not good team player
I just absolutely love Grav's natural enthusiasm.
As a Habs fan I'm glad he has some interest in them. I worry when he worries. I get excited when he's optimistic.
