I got busted with that once. There was a broken stick on the ice and with a few seconds to spare, I picked it up and dropped it into the penalty box. My thoughts were that an opposing player or a teammate might trip on it. Lesson learned.
I like how this is a ten minute misconduct but Rask throwing his skate blade in a fit of rage against the boards while screaming at the officials in the 2018 playoffs isn't anything lmao.
And don't get me wrong, I understand why it's a penalty to throw your stick into the crowd. But throwing your blade blindly because you don't like the call is way more dangerous and deserving of a misconduct if not an ejection.

Uh…Toews got the exact same penalty last year. Why all the surprise?
The refs wanted Boston to win

Just like sundin

Lol just like sundin
Shouldn't have been a penalty and I'm a Bruins fan
bs call, he clearly didnt mean to do that.
Correct me if I am wrong but didn't he break his leg that game
Steven Stamkos should have not fling the stick so quickly like that. Not only did it clear the glass, it nearly hit his teammates on the bench.
That’s the first time I’ve ever heard Jack Edwards say an opposing player didn’t do anything intentional
