Our first superstar. While his departure and time leading up to it led to a lot of sour grapes, 61 always called Columbus home. We really wasted his prime here with incompetent management, but ironically now is climbing the ladder here in the same roles. Imagine our 19 run with a signed Nash back.

Really enjoyed his retirement ceremony, while it doesn’t fit the standards of other teams retirements I don’t think anyone would argue he doesn’t belong up there.

The best thing about Nash was that he was our fighting chance on a series of dumpster-fire teams. I knew going to every game that the CBJ would probably lose but I bought tickets anyway because Nash was the kind of player who could occasionally throw the team on his back and take over a game. And if you were there to see it, all the suffering was worthwhile.

Every time he touched the puck I moved forward in my seat. That’s a rare kind of player.

A Nash game I enjoyed the most from a pure fun standpoint was his first return in a Rangers jersey. You could tell that players like Bobrovsky and Dubinsky were extra into it, playing for the fans as if to say, fuck this guy, this is our team now. And it was a great game. Nash had a patented streaking-down-the-wing-to-crash-the-net type of goal which set off a scrum, and the Calvert fight was memorable and emotionally confusing lol. The crowd was polite but gave him his due and then enjoyed a great game rooting for the CBJ. I honestly can’t even remember who won. It didn’t matter, just being there was so fun.
