When you give mediocre NTC, it once again proves that your GM should retire and head down to Florida for the final few years of his life in solitary
NO you know who can't get a fkn thing with that kind of roster mismanagement. You know who loves to give out ntc like candy at halloween. Isles have 10 ntc in some form. and 8 players-13, 14, 18, 27, 3, 6, 24, 30-who have gotten full term 7-8 year deals under you know who. Only 30 is worth it since his job is to save isles low scoring bacon every game. Un fkn believable. No other nhl team has that many long term deals on roster. At least isles lead nhl in something.
I support that Lou is WIN NOW, but the costs have been immense. That said, I feel we have navigated pretty well on a tough premise. This season is really a make it or break it, I feel for a lot of players. I am happy we locked down Varmalov. As you say, Gil, that it has been the costs of cap juggling to give long contracts and some with clauses., as these things are two-way streets.
Lou knows his time as GM is numbered and he cares about his legacy, and that is not bound to support long term planning and youngster development.
Give bottom pairing old washed up players 7 year deals with NTC is a crime. The mayfield contract was so unnecessary and stupid. Plus the palmeri contrac. JGP. Of course that loser horvat. All that is on demented old bag Lou.

Funny, iveheard over the yrs so much talk about moving on from many players on this team,Varly,Lee,Palmieri etc etc….lets say they did,who is this team bringing in to replace them!? THERE IT IS….
Ive also been saying for yrs, especially to a close friend fellow islamder fan that this team has doom and gloom coming for the next 5-10 yrs and he told me im just a pessimist!

Hi Gil! Happy Labor Day! A NTC of any kind, should only be given to your superstar or two—that’s it. What he’s done is make these players less attractive than they are. They are simply not tradable, unless you eat a whole chunk of that contract and then you need permission from the mediocre player—-just shoot me! If this was Lou’s plan—to WIN NOW and screw the future—-then he should have rolled the dice on big time players!! We have a very “overpaid team” and with NTClauses!! Sorry Gil—-anyone in any line of work would be let go. What this Gm has done is criminal from a sports perspective. We needed a McPhee or Dubas. Say what ya will about Dubas—-I feel Karlsson would be an Islander today, had he been our Gm. What’s done is done—-I blame the owners Gil. I’m beginning to honestly feel that the Isles are a “Real estate” acquisition. I’m beginning to feel “Ol timers” will not see another Cup again. It’s not about being pessimistic—-it’s about the present status moving forward—-it’s just a real bad spot. Bottom line? Until he is let go—-we can’t start over. I will never understand the “Loyalty” to this team vs treating Brodeur like pure garbage. Take care Gil—
