Chris Drury is looking like a very early genius. With the acquiring of Andrew Copp and Frank Vatrano, the New York Rangers addressed a very important need in 5 on 5 scoring. As a devils fan trying to be unbiased, he did great imo. I always like copp in WPG even though he doesn’t help with the speed part of NYR’s 5v5 game, he’s insanely good at faceoffs which is another thing NYR sorely need to go deep in May and June. I liked the Motte add for speed but he hasn’t shown up on the score sheet and Vatrano was a great add, shot + speed fit like a glove on that top line so far with Kreider and Zibanejad.
unbelievably good deadline from drury. but lets be fair and not forget that had a really bad offseason. buch trade was awful. barclay goodrow was a real bad signing. 3.6 for a guy that will be on the 4th line? yikes. and for 6 years. and nemeth was also a bad pickup. he makes way too much to be the liability he is in limited minutes
Mika is not one of the best centers. he would be lucky to make 4th line on Edmonton . McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent- Hopkins, McKinnon, Crosby, Matthews, Bergeron, Malkin, Point. All better. not including Eichel. Great centers win face offs.
So I read an article and I agree with it. Don't worry about our PK. It's been down for a few reasons. 1st is Rooney being out. 2nd is having Copp/Motte getting use to the new team and 3rd is Georgiev playing more. They showed a percentage between Shesty and Georgiev on the PP and it such a huge difference. We'll be fine

I’ll say this about Chris. Wherever he goes he wins. This dates all the way back to baseball, youth hockey, high school, college and pros. I’m not saying we will win a Cup, it’s very difficult to win the cup but he will keep this team competitive 100%.
He knows what it takes to win a cup.
Love every move they've made but 1. The fact that Flower was on the table and ended up in Minnesota kills me. If we had him and Shesty trading games we'd be an instant legacy team. We'll never be legit contenders when we have to score 5 goals to win a game with our backup goalie. I don't think Kinkaid is the answer. We need someone, anyone. Whether it's a seasoned veteran that wants to come along for the ride and win cup after cup with us trading with Shesty, or a hot young prospect that can be molded and mentored. Georgie has given us some good moments, but it's time. We need to let go.
And Drury didn’t have to sell the farm either. Made the team noticeably better without paying that high of a price.

Not sure what hes going to do this summer. Zibanejad and Fox are both getting raises. (11M total). Copp, Strome, Vatrano and Kakko all need new deals also. Imo, only two of them are coming back.
