  1. Watching him play at North Dakota was amazing. Man among boys. Glad to see him succeed!

  2. Played one year in the NHL and gets an 8-year contract!? Idk man…did he really earn that? I'm happy for Jake but dang…that's seems rather premature by the Sens.

  3. Ye Joseph is def gone. The Brannstrom and JBD resigning made everything harder.

  4. Wow!!!!
Heck of a chunk of $$$ to commit to a young unproven "D" BUT he's young, 6'3", and was the #5 pick in the 2020 draft. Time will tell if that was $$$ well spent. Heh…. we'll be seeing the same scenario play out with my beloved Habs as they work deals for Guehle, Barron, Harris, Xhekaj, Reinbacher, Maillieux, et al… we'll see how that plays out. Habs are certainly DEEP in young "D" talent…now comes the challenge of keeping the best of them in the fold.

  5. This is a great deal for Sanderson and the Senators both–Expect both him and the Senators to have an impressive season.

  6. It worked great for Timzey. Why not lock up a budding star for less money. I thought the team may have screwed up when they locked up TS, but it was a great move. If they tried to do it after his elc, it would've been closer to 10 to get the deal done. Maybe more. Jake has the frame to put on weight as well. He looks like a top pairing d man in the making. The sens might have a cup contending team sooner than people think.

  7. As a Sens fan I watched him a lot last season and he was our #1D by the end of the year in my opinion. This deal is incredible for the Sens, I can see a Norris or 2 in this guys future. Did you see the ESPN projections where they have Sanderson scoring 1G and like 14PTS? What are they smoking?! Cheers

  8. good or bad, steal or overpay, who knows. What's certain is that this is risky af; only 21 years old and 77 games played…….

  9. I'm a Sens fans and absolutely love Sandy but this contract is a bit too much. He only played one year.

  10. This is awesome.. if they waited until next season he would've easily made somewhere closer to 9 or 10 mil per season! Sens have a very good, youn core locked up long term to very team friendly contracts that will keep growing and improving together

  11. I like how the Sens core is paid all in the same area. It makes it more of a group effort, rather than giving 1 or 2 guys all of the money.
