Makes sense not to sign him long term if youre planning on developing Gauthier into a center. Frost couldnt produce with bottom 6 linemates last year, but once he was skating with Farabee and Tippett etc he lit up the 2nd half. If Torts plans on leaning more heavily on Cates and Couturier, Frost gets bumped down, but if he has Atkinson and Foerster on his wings its not really a 3rd line. As much as I believe in Frost and feel like he can find another gear this year, if this roster doesnt improve on last year all these bridge deals are easy to move and Frost’s offensive upside probably makes him more attractive than Cates to competitive teams.
