So when do they hold their rookie and young guy training? Because preseason starts pretty soon. Are they going to let all these guys play in preseason and then lock roster down afterwards?
Or do they basically know who’s made it before preseason?

Good work GMRF. I think this will be the best outcome for his development if he doesn’t make the team straight out of the gate.
This is absolutely the right choice for Shane’s development and solves a major headache the Kraken have. The ideal path for Shane is to spend all season being a 1/2C in the AHL and then make the full time jump to the NHL for the 24-25 season when Wennberg’s contract expires. That will let him slot into the Kraken as 2C.
Another benefit – his ELC would slide 1 more year if this happens.
If there is a major injury to one of Beniers, Wennberg, or Gourde he might get extended NHL time this season. Without that, I just don’t see a place for him on the NHL roster.

This is great news for everyone. Best possible scenario for his development

This is great news. I am a Shane Wright believer. Due to his missed season in the OHL, he is 1 year developmentally behind where Beniers was when we drafted him.
Now Beniers is a beast and my gut tells me that Beniers will continue to be awesome, but I think Wright will eventually pass him in the depth chart. Might take 3-4 years, but I think Wright has a higher ceiling. Again this is not a dig at Beniers.

Let’s go man! I really hope he can break out and join the team and become a threat.

This makes me sad that the Kraken aren’t part of the Penticton Young Stars Classic. Stoked that Wright can play in the AHL, but I still hope he makes the team in Seattle. There will be a big whole in the lineup next year with Wennberg being a UFA.

YES! I was so worried he was going to be stuck for a whole year playing against teenagers 😭

Looks like John Barr was right when he said this 2 weeks ago ([post here](https://www.reddit.com/r/SeattleKraken/comments/1607suf/rumor_shane_wright_ahl_eligibility_decision_is/)).
