What! The! Absolute! Heck! Is THAT?! That ref needs to be disciplined! Imagine if an NFL umpire kicked a fumble to a particular team; or a soccer ref tapped the ball forward to a player? Unbelievable.
Have to assume brain fart mixed with "well I don't want them stabbing at my feet and fighting over it here". Solid pass though.

To be fair, he played it in the same direction it would have gone, had he not made contact. I see no bias here.
This obviously is dumb and he shouldnāt of but Iām guessing his mindset was āif I didnāt get in the way it was going that way towards that player so Iāll kick it that wayā so like his fuck up but kind of understandable

I see it as he interfered with a perfect reverse play and to make up for his interference he just put the puck where it was supposed to go. Big deal

I dont give a shit that the puck was supposed to go behind the net. Ref should never voluntary interefere with the puck. The puck hit you, that's it. Referee have always been partt of the game.
While I agree where the pass was intended to go. The Boston player hadn't reacted to the ref interference but the Ottawa player had. Now once the ref kicked it up the Ottawa player continued along as he should have. Happens lots where a ref or linesman gets hit by a puck and its just bad luck. Have to adapt to the new situation. I'm sure this was a one off deal, but if it is something refs start to do. Now players have to potentially react to an official getting in the way but they may play the puck or they may not. Just needs to be an error and play goes on. If it is something that happens where no opposition player is there I have no issues with it. But this altered how a puck off the official should have happened.
