lafreniere is about to go insane, the only reason this deal took so long was term. rangers wanted a 3 year bridge. lafreniere wanted a 1 year. theyve settled on 2 years
i see the gamebreaking ability of him. hes going to be a 30 goal scorer next season with possibly 90 points in a top 6 role.
he has to take advantage this year. now there really are top6 spots from the get go. his best chance of a top6 role is him moving to the right side.
I'm a fan of Laff and believe he was under utilized with Gallant. But good 5v5 production. HOPEFULLY he gets big mins and produces and elevates his all around game. High expectations for sure 🙏 LETS GO RANGERS ☝️🔵⚪️🔴

In Kakko's 3rd year he was 7/11/18 Laffy was 16/23/39. He's doing much better than Kakko. Waiting for a breakout once he gets serious. He just needs to grow up. Be patient.
As friedman says its not really a 2 year deal. its one plus one. one year to see if his market value can get realigned to where it nyr can get a decent return for him next summer while he is still on a cheap deal. from that angle this looks like a win win.
