His only problems are rebound control and consistency, and both of those are things he can easily work on. Plus, it's like people don't remember that he's a backup goalie putting up top 10 goalie numbers.
as a bruins fan i love swayman, i feel like in a few more years he will be the bruins starting goalie because he is a fantastic goalie when he is on his game and it helps that he is only 24 so he has time to learn
way too critiscized by the fanbase. some of the most asinine shit i've seen from us. he's 24- it's his sophomore season. he's putting up hellishly good numbers, but lacks as much consistency as people would like. something he can rectify no problem. absolutely love him
He's a young goalie with lots of potential, people forget that he is better than all of the goalies at his age. In a few years, I can see him becoming what Ullmark has become this season.
I don’t know if he’ll be elite either… But is it true that most or a lot of goalies don’t hit their prime or play their best hockey until they get closer to their late 20s?
Also in fairness to Swayman, Dominik Hasek would have a tough time taking the starting job from Ullmark THIS season (no I’m not saying he’s Dominic Hasek) lol

You're acting like he's having a bad season. He's had a great season with 3 or 4 mediocre (or less) games. His numbers are awesome. Fans who don't appreciate him are expecting far too much. In my opinion they should continue playing both goalies through the playoffs to keep them fresh. Of course Ullmark is having a career year, but I think both of them will be better if they continue to rotate. I doubt they'll rotate in the playoffs unless Ullmark suddenly tanks because every team in the NHL does the same thing and chooses one goalie to ride. I wish the Bruins would break that mold this year.

Swayman is the better goalie but it is not his time yet, he’s still young and needs to improve in a few small areas

Any Bruins fan who says Swayman OR Ullmark are not good enough, is not a true fan. Look around the league. No other team has a tandem close to the same quality as we have in Boston. Sure this isn’t Swayman’s big year. This is Ullmark’s big year. Do I expect Ullmark to have the same performance next season? No. Would it be amazing if he did? Hell yea. What fan wouldn’t love to see their goalie perform 50 win seasons? Not counting the other goalies 10+ wins. That is recipe for a daunting Cup run.
Fake fans wanted to trade Ullmark last year, Swayman this year. The cycle will continue. Much like the ‘fans’ who want Marchand, Hall, Foligno, McAvoy, Grzelcyk, Forbort, Coyle, Pastrnak, Frederic and a few others gone.
I criticized Swayman, and I have to say I didn't know what I was talking about. The current GAA NHL stats have Ullmark 1st wtih 1.92, and Swayman 3rd with 2.22. Save Percentage: Ullmark 1st with .937, Swayman 4th with .921. For goalies with 20 or more wins: Ullmark and Phoenix Copley have only 5 losses, Swayman has 6. I don't know what more you could possibly ask from your #2 (no matter how old he is).

The "trade Rask" crowd has set their ire upon Sway for some reason. I think Boston fans were extremely spoiled by Rask / Thomas and some have come to expect every net-minder in the black and gold to play like Price that year he tried to single-handedly win the cup. Unfortunately, despite Rask having extremely consistent numbers, many expected him to bail out the defense for every odd man rush or failed clearing attempt. It's much the same with Sway, though Sway isn't quite where Rask was in terms of numbers. But despite being the backup, he's currently #3 for GAA this year at 2.22 and #4 for save% at .921! Keep in mind, the top spot is Ullmark.

Only stupid bruins fans are hard on Swayman. As a huge Bruins fan, 99% of the fanbase loves the guy and understands he is the future of the position for the team in 3 years.
As i may ot be able to fully touch on his level of skill I can touch on his personality a tad. I used to live in Alaska, during covid I met him on an outdoor rink. I had no idea who he was, just that he was very good. On another level good just as a skater messing around. I asked him if he was in college, he said he was. I asked if he his goal was NHL and he kinda smiled and said he was drafted by Boston. He had yet to play a game. He is a VERY nice person. Super humble. I wish I would of talked with him more, but I was kinda intimated. Locally nothing but good things are said about him and his family. I wish him well and am sure he will have an amazing career!
He’s our backup and he’s better than the majority of the leagues starters! 😂 Unbelievable that he’s getting negativity from fans. Shows you how spoiled we’ve been this season.
I liked Swayman when I saw him play those 1st (?) season call ups. I think he is a better shootout goalie than Rask was and looks better than Ullmark. All though Ullmark has been playing out of his mind this year.
The whole team looks a little tired of late but they have also had several back to back days to play.
