The Capitals’ 20-year-old Semyon Varlamov made 29 saves in earning his second NHL win 4-2 over St. Louis. This was his first ever appearance at Verizon Center and he received the loudest pregame ovation of any of the six Capitals starters on this night. His father, Alexander, was in attendance. The future looks bright for this talented, young goalie.

Very good goalie 😉
He was the best in Russian Super League 2007-2008
I saw him at the Caps Rookie Training camp with Alzner and both stood out the most…they're going to be GREAT hockey players in the NHL!
he was pretty good but not the best, but he was the best at junior world championship 2007.
After watching him on the Monday April 20th Playoff game vs Rangers (SC Playoffs, Round 1, game 3), I have declared him to be "The Iron Curtain"
Excellent nickname!!!!!!!!!
A puck.
Yeah, but don't forget Tukka Rask, he's gonna be massive as well, and they reckon that Al Montoya is supposed to be really good.
I think he's going to be the best goalie in the league. I mean yes there's Carey Price and Steve Mason, but I think that they've been put into starting positions too early and its going to ruin them. He is being developed and there isn't too much of a spotlight on him. He is gonna be massive, and the same goes for Tukka Rask as well.
@bran0175 don't forget about Jonas Gustavsson, Cam Ward and Jacob Markstrom from Sweden who was drafted by Florida
