  1. Mesar didn't have the ideal year but he still had an impressive camp last year. I think last year was ac year of adjustment but he did not have the same level of support that slavkovsky had. He pretty much was on his own in a new city with new team where everyone was more cut throat about their future. I'm anxious to see how he responds this year. He has very good skills.

  2. Okay Habs fans…. since you think Mesar is a bust, maybe trade him to Sens for a 7th round pick? Obviously, you've over-rated his talents and you want to get him off your reserves…

  3. Come on give the Kid a chance. First year in N.A on a smaller ice rink, away from his Family and comfort and He was almost one point a game. I don't call that bust material. Next year will be crucial in his development. (2022-23 Kitchener Rangers OHL 52 17 34 51 )

  4. I was never a fan of the Toffoli trade; having an underwhelming 1st round pick alongside a mediocore player in Heineman was not worth a player who could score and wanted to stay in Montreal.

  5. Let’s not forget about the X factor. If mesar and Slafovsky have chemistry together. It was mesars transition year. And now this session is transition to the AHL. Then the following season he should get at least some nhl time.

  6. Yep the Habs are the worst first round pickers, and this is the main reason for the team's 15 years slump. If the Habs had no scouting team at all and just asked the office receptionist to pick players according to the official prospect listings, they would be a much better team than they presently are. That said, Mesar will have to make himself more unpredictable. His blend of rapid turnovers and speedy power forwarding is spectacular but can become predictable and unidimensional. He needs to develop the skills needed for when the game slows down and becomes more of a mind game. If he can't access this level, he will forever stay a AHL player

  7. The young man himself, mentioned about his adjustment to North American ice was harder then he thought, let's be patient and enjoy!

  8. bro was literally best player in development camp last year and they sent him to play with kids in OHL

  9. Heard that the team spirit wasn't there and he wasn't feeling that much good in the locker room..

  10. I think with Mesar it was a case where he should of had a 10 game try out for the sake of his development last year. He was really good at the camp and deserved a spot. He was on a great trajectory until they cut him and sent him to juniors. Was probably tough for him to swallow that pill because he deserved a spot. And unfortunately didn't have the wisdom to bounce back. Still think he has some good skills, but it will take longer for him to reach back that confidence.
