NO ONE will stop the Oilers…

The Oilers power play is unstoppable after scoring at a 60% clip vs the Kings. I look at why it’s so good and how it’ll be their differentiator the rest of the way.

  1. Powerplay based teams are bad only in surface theory. In reality, good teams will simply force more penalties due to their 5v5 and punish in PP.

  2. Hopeful that the offensive juggernaut of the Oilers can compensate for their shaky defence and goaltending. Time will tell.

  3. For Oilers, the name of the game is… offense!!!
If you stay away from the penalty box, you'll have a chance against them, because their defense is so weak!
My hope is to see Edmonton vs Toronto in final. Bring back the cup where hockey begins… in Canada!

  4. The leagues best team is out, the defending champs are out. Nothing is for certain this year. However, I am cheering for them. I grew up in Edmonton during the Gretzky era. Good to see this team prosper. Oilers Toronto in final.

  5. Well I hope so, but there are a lot of variables such as "getting" penalized versus "having" a penalty advantage. They have to stay out of the box, because penalty scoring has now become a "set play", and in a close game can make all the difference. (who takes the most penalties.) Regular season has been fairly even.

  6. Everyone said the Bruins could not be stopped. Everyone said the Leafs could not get out of the 1st. Everyone Said Vegas would fall to the Jets. No team in unstoppable.

  7. The knights aren't a walk in the park. Dallas will be a tough out. And even if the Lers make the finals, all 5 teams on that side are dangerous as well. I think the Leafs have a harder path, but I would love to see them against Edmonton for the cup. I really want to have a Canadian franchise win it again

  8. Can we get a closeup of drai's celly? dude looked like golem as he turned, give me the ring my precious

  9. I picked Edmonton to win the Stanley Cup before the playoffs started and im sticking with it

  10. The Oilers Kings games were by far the fastest skating, highest energy, and greatest skill level series of the first round. The other series I watched, including the Bruins Predators surprisingly, were like regular season games by comparison.

  11. You're missing a very important point: The deeper teams go in the playoffs, the fewer penalties the refs call. It doesn't matter how good your power play is if you're never on the power play.

  12. Not gonna happen. Their D and goaltending isn’t good enough to become champions. Their close though but they won’t win the cup.

  13. Go Oilers! I think Bouchard's point ceiling will be 80 to 100 points! Oilers fans should just forget about acquiring Karlsson because Bouchard could very well be better in his prime than Karlsson!

  14. Special teams is so crucial in the playoffs. You can win or lose a series on your special teams so the Oilers begin so dominant on the PP is only going to help them reach another level. Their PK has to just get the job done and goaltenders need to be okay (just okay), then I think the Oilers can go all the way. Please give me Oilers vs Maple Leafs.

  15. Oilers will choke like they always do the Leafs will too Seattle will win the Western Conference this year

  16. Except for Carolina which had a 94% PK in Round 1. Lets not get biased. Panthers beat Boston and thats reason enough to scrap all statistics and just enjoy hockey.
