While I might not be an expert, this still seems like a very bad idea.

Of course lamoriello would bring back his boy. Shouldn’t come as a surprise. Only took a 12th ranked PP the season prior and turned it into a 31st ranked PP last season, and went 1-17 in the playoffs. Fucking idiot🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. Well we aren’t gonna be making the playoffs again.

  4. toledosurprised

they’re really counting on the slightly better personnel improving the power play i guess

  5. AJS76reddit

I loved him as a player but for the love of GOD get his ass away from our powerplay

Well, at least Bailey isn’t on the PP anymore. As much as I liked the guy, he would get the puck on the PP and just dance with it, never shooting.

    **ISLES PP BEFORE BARZAL INJURY**

    *Expected Rank:* 19th of 32

    *Actual Rank:* 28th of 32

    **ISLES PP AFTER BARZAL INJURY**

    *Expected Rank:* 28th of 32

    *Actual Rank:* 32nd of 32

*Expected rank comes from expected goal rate calculated by offensive chance creation, shot quality, quantity, and location.

  8. Look, I go to bat for LL and LL a lot, I mostly think they’ve done a reasonably good to great job coaching and constructing this team.

    What the actual fuck, though

  9. lazyblogger914

They didn’t upgrade the roster all that much, the inept PP will remain. After this baseball season, the giants last night the fall and winter doesn’t inspire much hope

  10. SlowReaction4

Wow they really did very little to bolster the roster. Didn’t even improving their coaching. Disappointing

Let’s run it back a year older and slower. It will be totally different and better this year!

  12. ponradcrofit

The only decision this off-season I’m perplexed by. Hopefully they have the toughest leash possible going into the season..

  13. Mustang_Dragster

So we don’t improve with trades and we keep the mastermind of the worst PP in the NHL. Woopty doo

  14. viewless25

same personnel same coaching staff different result LFG

  15. mc_lean28

Literally the one thing I think every Isles fan can agree on is we need a power play. We would not be scraping into the playoffs with a just average power play percentage. MacLean needs to go full stop.

Feelin like that Ben Affleck smoking meme right now

  17. turbulentcounselor

I mean hasn’t our power play sucked through multiple coaches

  18. FalconSixSix

Will he remain on staff but not coach the powerplay? If they want to keep him around then fine but the powerplay was pathetic and someone needs to be help accountable

  19. Oddo_Rocket

Why does Loue always have to be so complacent with this team. A play off team should not have had as bad of a power play as we did last season. We aren’t gunna get better if we don’t have the proper coaching staff

  20. PachytheDino

We have had like 4 PP coaches and nothing has changed, its the players fault

  21. BKong64

Keeping the PP coach is fucking inexcusable, if it starts off bad again he’s GOT to go but Lou loves protecting his hires.

  22. VinPickles

For a guy tasked with removing a country club culture lou doesnt demand a lot of accountability from anyone
