@Montreal Canadiens

He’s not worried at all..

OK Guys, yesterday at the Montreal Canadiens annual golf tournament, Arber Xhekaj made it clear that he was not intimidated at all about this upcoming season of hockey. Despite suffering a shoulder injury, the Atlantic division getting TOUGHER to play against and the Canadiens not adding any help. Xhekaj seems like he is very calm about the situation.
Why not bring back a guy like Nicholas Deslauriers?

  1. That is an interesting point about bringing back Deslauriers, adding some grit and toughness to the team. However, by adding him in the lineup, he would take a spot from a younger player that could be ready to play. I don't see it happening in the short term, unless they trade bottom 6 players eventually (i.e. Evans, Armia).

  2. I totally agree with you. Deslauriers would be a great acquisition. Bergevin never should have let him go in the first place. Arbur is worth more being on the ice and nailing guys than sitting in a penalty box with some paid goon from the opposing team. Xhekaj is above all a talented defenseman. Too bad his brother isn't two or three years older, they'll be a helluva pair someday.

  3. I like the Deslauriers suggestion. He can stand with anyone and is no more of a liability than any of the other heavy's. I'm sure Reaves and Lucic are going to be either riding the pine or are in the press box more than on the ice, which would be an ideal scenario for Nick. Gotta love Arber though.

  4. reaves is going to whoop him.thats ok.
    sometimes you have to take a whooping to take the second one better.
    not many heavyweights around,i look forward to leafs vs habs.
    gohabsgo.

  5. He would be a solid pick-up. I agree on getting Arber some help since Pezz is the next in line and He's a bit small to go with the the true heavyweights.

  6. Right on, HoJun! Could not agree more. Btw, those pastel bleu unis have got to go. Ug-a-leee.

  7. I completely disagree, goons are a past era phenomenon, physical play is fine as long as the player knows how to play hockey like a Josh Anderson or a Tom Wilson, or a good mix of pest and skill like prime Gallagher, Domi or Marchand is perfectly fine as well. If a move for Deslauriers happened, id be happy if the Canadiens could trade Armia for him, not that i want Deslauriers, but id be happy simply because we wouldn’t really lose any offensive production and make some room on the cap.

    Still, it would be a move toward the wrong direction.

  8. I like the Deslauriers idea. Be a wise move. But then I think Pezzetta would be traded

  9. I’m in favour of jolly St. Nick rejoining the Habs this season!! That seems like a sweet early Xmas present for us fans. Let’s go boys. 💪🏽

  10. I've been saying for two years they should go and pick up Domi again. The guy can skate, score, and drop the gloves. He's more consistent in all those departments than Anderson

  11. Exange Armia for Deslauriers, onlhy positive feel with Deslauriers, Armia is almost always a passenger on the team’s efforts, if he would play at his potential it would be different but, he’s playing like a guy that sits on his millions, just show up and pick up the cash!
