Let’s go! At $1.5M for the season that’s a gamble well worth taking.

I remember seeing a Montreal fan on twitter a few years ago suggesting a Byram for Tatar and a pick trade, lol.

  3. I guess it is OK for regular season scoring depth, but dude has been complete ass in the playoffs his entire career.

Seems like a break the glass PP specialist for us if we are in dire straits.

We might actually have depth this year! Assuming we put Drouin with Mac on the top line, our middle six is: Lehky, Nuke, Johansen, Wood, Colton, and Tatar. That’s a solid group and huge step up from last year

This is a really good signing, we went from having some of the weakest middle six of a playoff team and has to be the weakest of the contenders last season to this being a potential source of strength for the regular season and playoffs.

Tatar is also a decent insurance policy for Drouin if he turns into a bust?

All of sudden the Avs are looking pretty solid in terms of cheap, depth pieces. This is a good signing I think. He should contribute… in the regular season at-least.

Finally! This is the kind of move I’ve been waiting for because I am so not pleased with Meyers and Olofsson on the 4th line.

Enjoy his good defensive zone play! Unfortunately it will then be immediately followed by an offensive zone turn over because he held the puck for too long.

    Love it!

Don’t know a ton about him but a 50 point player for 1.5m… looks like a W, plus he plays 2 ways as well. He will rise from the ashes like Helm and get us to another cup 😀 LFG

No matter what happens, in Sakic/McFarland we trust!

He prob could have taken more elsewhere but this is the discount we get being a “Stanley Cup Win Now” team

  11. I love this at 1.5, low risk depth for the middle six!

This signing has made me a lot more comfortable with our scoring depth and number of risky players. Raises the floor a lot.

Let’s fucking go! This team looks amazing considering the off-season turnover!

I love this for us. He’s a trigger man, plays great defense, and is versatile.

His scoring is a lot of in and around the slot, a pass or a bounce comes his way and *blink* it’s been shoveled laser fast, like did that just happen fast, in the net OR he calls for a pass, settles for half a second, and rips it top right. We had really shit depth in terms of scoring last year and it was a real problem. In terms of what we can expect, he averages 12-14 minutes and scores around 1.0 g/60 (same rate as Lehk last year but he gets 20+ min a night). Oh, and he was a *+ 41 last year playing third line minutes.*

His advanced stats confirm what people say – he’s a dogged, effective, relentless defender who creates a lot of turnovers.

And he’s mostly a bottom six guy. But with that shot, he might spice up the 2nd powerplay or slot in for Nichushkin when Bednar wants a different look.

    Creates turnovers/possession ✅

Finishing ability and a snappy shot ✅

Good at shutting down opponents ✅

Detroit took one of ours so we took one of theirs ✅

    Lfg.
