Draft bust Fields is just not able to "read" the defense and to quick to take off with the ball, not involving his receivers and running backs.

His athleticism as a runner has blinded people to his inabilities. Before the draft analysts were saying he can’t look past his first or second read. Let alone many other deficiencies. Do you draft someone like that?

I’m gonna go 80s commentary style here. Host nice rack and just lovely overall. As for football these guys know Bears are a clown franchise and they’re simply here to collect a paycheck. Justin Fields as a passer you can say he’s decent but certainly in no way do I ever think he’s gonna be a star in the NFL. And the McCaskeys inept greed led ownership will only lead to many more years if not decades of disappointment. Sorry Chicago.

Idk why he apologized. That honestly looked like a coaching L to me. What’s up with all the damn screens and swing passes? For the past few years the Bears have played safe until middle of the 3rd quarter then they look at the score and say oh shit we’re losing, let’s try to do something now. They make a few things happen, then they turn the ball over because they’re trying to make up for 3 quarters of going through the motions. Why don’t they ever come out with any energy? Eberflus is a nice guy but come on dude. Your team is coming out flat. Solider Field rarely has the energy it had Sunday and the team did not meet the fans’ intensity at all. All that work to get DJ Moore and he gets like 2 targets? What tf am I missing?

Justin fields cant see the field or read defenses and QB1s never have this problem for this long he came in with this problem and 3years later still cant read defenses and also a ohio state QB had never been good in the NFL remember that so if fields succeed he will be the first QB from ohio state ever to be successful in the NFL and i don't like them odds

Can freeze when seeing the blitz
Must get better at passing in the face of the rush
Blitz recognition needs work
Needs to check the ball down more

Needs to get quicker working through progressions
Limited playing experience; only 1.5 seasons as a starter
I’m sick of excuses
Some people just don't translate into the NFL. I have nothing against fields, but he does not look like he is progressing at all. You can only make excuses for so long. He can't even do the easy stuff right now. The Bears gave up on defense to try and surround this guy with a serviceable offense, and now they are bad on both sides of the ball because he simply is not developing. You give him this year obviously, but if he doesn't figure out this year, you gotta move on.
That schedule looks like a 2-5 start at best.

Fields has to do what Jim McMahon did and call audibles. McMahon always tells the story how he called an audible when the Vikings were stacking the line and they scored on a play action and butthurt Ditka and him yelled at each other on the sideline after. Walter Payton said to McMahon after, “Keep doing what you’re doing”. After the 4th or 5th failed screen pass, you would think you would call something else but they called 10+ more screen passes🙄
