The best part of this decision over Morrissey imo, who I definitely believe was the favorite in fans and their peers eyes, is the fact lowry is a bottom six captain, who is a line up staple, and a bridge between the top, and the very bottom of the lineup. He'll deal with everyone, and be on a roughly equal standing to almost everyone atleast in one area or another of the team game/locker room dynamics… Adam will have the best chance imo of stopping any locker room divisions before they even start, unlike Wheels was reportedly able to do, as he had a hard time connecting with youth, and with the bottom lineup guys…
This should REALLY help the "hierarchy/special treatment" issues we'd been hearing rumors of almost all of Blakes time as C…
I think Lowry clearly does some stuff behind the scenes as well thats hes not getting credit for, in order for him to beat out Josh like this…
I think Josh would have been a great choice too, but just for different reasons… and if you wanted a different direction from Wheels and that style, I think Lowry was a very smart choice from all involved…
He leaves it all out there in the ice, stands up for his teammates, but his comments at his exit interview were concerning, they made him look like part of the problem!
