While no news really within the Athletic article, Zegras’ agent, when referring to Jake Sanderson’s contract:
“When you’re a year out with and entry level player – Jake had another year left under contract – you rarely do a bridge. You do a bridge at the end of the contract.”
Pretty solidifies the agent wanting to do a bridge for Zegras.

To me a bridge deal was covering the period after the ELC to becoming an UFA. Wouldn’t a two year deal be a bridge to another RFA period? A bridge to a bridge? Everyone calls it a bridge deal so I guess I don’t understand the term.
No way I would sign a home team discount. GM will still trade you and now you are playing at a discount in Detroit.
I think they want to get it done before camp.
