My problem with this is, one if the the players have a problem, should've brought it up years ago, 2 the allegations should have come from the player the allegation is alleging which in this case boone jenner. Lastly johnny gaudreau, boone jenner, and Mike Babcock both came out and said this got blown out of proportions, not to mention jenner was happy to show his family photos. All I see is Mike Babcock knowing who the player was personally as he is a coach of that player and his team.
Can someone please tell the ADULT players, that they can say “NO?” I won’t defend Babcock, but this is as snowflakey as it gets. Oh, no! Poor professional, ADULT Hockey players, are being ‘victimized’ by the bad man, Mike Babcock…this whole thing, is ridiculous. Their phones, are ‘PRIVATE PROPERTY,’ and the coach would have no leg to stand on. Grow a pair, guys!

If Boone Jenner caved to letting Babcock take his phone and go through it? Then Jenner is an idiot. If he is claiming that he was forced? Then Jenner needs to get a spine.
Why are you acting like it's weird? It's completely innocuous.
The one thing that I can think about where this would be a problem is if he did this to a closeted player—and if he did this every year, with every player, in Detroit, Toronto, and now in Columbus, there’s a statistical near-certainty that he did do this with a closeted player.
I know that the league has made buckets of progress in the last decade or so, but hockey is still a fairly homophonic place. If you’re a closeted gay player and your coach springs this “team-building” exercise on you, that would probably be your best cardio workout for the offseason. If he sees something in a photo that outs you, that could be it for your career—especially if you’re not a star player.
So, while I think that this whole situation specifically is probably making a mountain of a mole hill, I can see where it could be absolutely terrifying for a player, especially if he feels compelled to participate.
Babs definitely was up to his old tricks. Columbus is sweeping it under the rug and will regret it when something more serious happens. Don’t throw biz under the bus because he’s standing up for the players.

As a cbj fan thank you Lego for having a very diplomatic point of view on the matter. Some media personalities, especially in Toronto, decided it would be funny to add oil to the fire and push this story further into speculation.
This is probably a nothing story…on the other hand, who goes around like a creep asking to see photos on someone’s phone, even if ONE other person volunteered that info?
