Justin Fields and Luke Getsy have rightfully been at the center of the criticism coming from the Chicago Bears Week 1 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but one of the overlooked themes from the game was the big free agent signings and trades underachieving.
Tremaine Edmunds and TJ Edwards couldn’t take away the middle of the field. DeMarcus Walker and Rasheem Green weren’t disruptive on the defensive line. Nate Davis and Lucas Patrick couldn’t block up front. And Chase Claypool did not give good effort.
The silver lining was many of Poles’ draft picks showing promise.

Poles is a huge fraud but so many people kissed his ass for some reason. A lot of bears fans are so desperate for the validation of espn/fox talking heads.
Bad free agents, cheap spenders is how it is. No impact. Clean out the GM and all coaches. Pathetic team after months of building the team up for sales purposes. Great, ur bringing in a lot of money. And u r tight on spending and didn’t get quality free agents. I’m not looking forward to seeing anymore of this team.

Poles need to stop playing with this o line… should have signed Orlando Brown… and in the 2nd rd drafted JMS… gotta either draft better or spend $ on the o line. And instead of signing LB sign D lineman … spend the $ on a Hargrave… we need that type of talent.

Wright played much better as the game went on, he got caught on a stunt, but was ready for it later on. 4 penalties for Braxton Jones wasnt good

Really would appreciate more logic in these situations… Anybody that understands football knew the better team would win… Regardless how you feel about GB… That team has been teaming for along time… Chemistry, familiarity, scheme, drafted players for their program and coaches… At least together over the last 4 years…. Love has been learning that system for the last 4 years… Relax… Even if it's another bad year… Its a opportunity to bring in better talent, bringing us closer to building a contender… Trust the process… If it ain't a super bowl trophy at the seasons end.. You are a loser…
They need better play calling from both coordinators. The coordinators are supposed to call plays to his players strength. We can have Tom Brady, but if the coaches are calling screens all game, tightend rushes, how successful will he be.
Ryan Poles needs to start using the (POWER OF THE PURSE)
Poles should have known what Chase Claypool was from a professional/ maturity/effort standpoint. The whole league knew it. No team gives up and trades that kind of physical talent without a reason. This move was desperate by poles. I'm not talking hindsight either, the whole league knew. Poles would have been better spending all his draft on offensive linemen to protect the quarterback so he could develop. Lucas Patrick should not be in the league. The quarterback failure is an institutional failure by not addressing the oline repeatedly in multiple drafts.😢 if I were the quarterback I would refuse to play and ask for a trade! The time for talking bs is over!
Poles needs to stop signing free agents, because he sucks at it. He throws 10 million a year at Nate Davis, keeps Lucas Patrick who is hot garbage and cuts Dieter Eislen, and nobody he signed on defense is worth the veteran minimum. And basically gives up a first round pick for Chase Claypool, yeah Poles sucks at signing free agents. If there isn't rapid improvement with this team then Poles and this coaching staff need to be shown the door. Also Alan Williams could be the worst DC i have seen, and Getsy? Are you kidding me with that play calling. I can't stomach much more of this team.

Nothing against Lucas Patrick personally, but many Packers fans (this one included) regarded Patrick as a "guy" who served as an OK backup while in Green Bay. Count me surprised that he's a starter in Chicago – or maybe not so considering the problems with the offensive line. I do think things will turn for the better for Bears fans after a couple drafts.

Play execution on offense was a major factor!
The defensive line and the o line plus Claypool were the problem 😂 fields was playing well til the penalties kept giving us 20 plus yards the wrong way
Claypool looked like he wanted to be elsewhere doing a tic toc. The steelers unloaded him for a reason & the bears are starting to figure that out ! He's LAZY & IMMATURE !!!!!
Edmunds was awfull. I have a YouTube channel I talked about it. Not A middle LB I thought it was strange the way he said I came here to play in the middle. ! Has to be money. He needs a no thought position. Not sure you can fix a low football IQ. ! .

People mistook the additions as making the Bears a GOOD team, with even some foolish enough to call them a playoff team. They were the worst team in the league last year. They improved and they will win more than 3 games. But it's .500 at best.

Shot gun, shot gun, shot gun. Nagy had curls, curls, curls. Bears played Packers like they’ve never played them before. No communication, no plan, no accountability. Coach and QB pointing fingers. This is going backwards.

Nate Davis, Claypool and Kmet all should be benched. They did absolutely nothing to help the offense. Watching game tape will be a nightmare for those 3. If they have other options, they better do it, now!

Poles is in over his head. You'd think McCaskey would have learned about hiring rookie GM's after Pace. If they get smacked around again in TB we may be looking at another 3 win season. The one positive to that is they won't commit and sign Justin to a long term contract.

That probably wasn’t solely on Edmonds. The coach kept on calling cover 2 the way to beat that is throw down the middle but there were throwing middle deep wile cover 2 only covers middle medium there’s a open spot deep middle

Fields has not made the progress that was anticipated, where is the fault? The comparison was when Back -up QB Bagent came in a number of plays , the approach he played with was one of experience, his progressions were on point, quick strike….would like to see that level of confidence in Fields.
I put this on the QB guru for the Bears. this is an area that Justin Fields will struggle with.
