Talking About Taylor Hall Before He Gets Traded

He is a star player, to be sure, but there are people who overvalue what he brings to the table right now. His UFA status in 2020 could factor into any deal as well. Would Arizona want to have signing him to an extension as part of a trade?

  1. leafs will offer Kapinen and Barrie for Hall. Why they would want Hall at all is a mystery. I think Montreal and Arizona are the most likely to seriously attempt to get Hall.

  2. Habs need scorers and a playoff spot badly, but what would they have to give up for a likely half season rental like Hall? If Devils asking for too much, not worth it. Hall is a toxic cancer in the dressing room anyway. Hasn't changed since his Oiler days, still a total moronic jerk.

  3. I think he over preformed that one year and a team is going to over pay for him. That being said, i wish nothing but the success for the guy. At least one good playoff run.

  4. If Arizona believes they can keep it up this year the first rouder would not be so high and that is all they are giving, but does believe in Arizona. Arizona and Hall are possibly the same overproducing.

  5. If Iā€™m Ken Holland, Iā€™d only do it if it was Larsson for Hall, with a guaranteed not bank breaking extension. Otherwise, itā€™s going to be bad asset management, which has been Oilers racket for a long time.

  6. This is why I'm confused why the media is all hyped over the possible trade hype and the price he will demand. People are saying 10.5m a year for Hall… huh?

  7. Blues fan:Ā  Hard pass, on Hall.Ā  He's not a terrible player, but missing 194 out of a possible 786 games (roughly a quarter of all games)…and mostly for injuries.Ā  Not awesome for the numbers and assets I'm seeing thrown around as possibilities.

  8. Honestly I think the Devils have purposely started all this hype in the first place to create the illusion of urgency amongst the other teams. They want desperate GMs to unload the prospect pool and draft picks at their feet. If you think about it, they don't really need a 28 year old Hall with the young players they have now so they don't need to be desperate to move him either and I certainly don't think they wanna resign him to a massive 8 year deal either. As you said THG they're likely planning ahead for the future to resign their key players and Hall's 6 mill off the books along with extra draft picks helps them big time

  9. Itā€™s great to see everyone agreeing ..that Taylor Fall is basically a talented….but over- paid, injury-prone, whiny dud, good luck to the next sucker team to take himšŸ‘ŒšŸ˜‚

  10. How far is Chicago out? Is la buying out kovalchuck to sign hall this offseason. How desperate is San Jose? Would vancouver want to take a leap? Just some BS to think about as I feel stlouis and Colorado shouldn't trade away their talented prospects for a rental. As a habs fan I rather keep the prospects than pay that price for hall. Arizona with new ownership may want to take the chance on him. Does Florida think he can out do dandonov or Hoffman. The Spencer knight speculations could be possible.

  11. Itā€™s like shark tank you usually take the first offer you get or else you might not get that offer again

  12. Hall simply put showes a lack of enthusiasm, when he should buckle down and play and show no reaction to the dilemma surrounding him .The guy is talented and he needs to realize not everyone is going to hoist the cup

  13. Hall won back to back Memorial Cup MVPā€™s. I would love to see what he can do with a long playoff run

  14. My view about St. Louis and Colorado being involved is that they probably kinda "had to" make the call and check. It is your duty as a general manager to make the call.

  15. wow looking ahead with the benefit of hindsight ..the Oilers could have really used him as depth guy ..both him and Eberle ..would gladly take those "old guys" over Yamamoto and Derek Ryan..but in the real that was not going to happen
