**What is Discord?**
Discord is a communication platform designed for creating communities. It combines voice, video, text, and image sharing into one space – think of it like Slack or Skype.
**Why join?**
It’s a smaller version of our community here on Reddit with a tight knit group, some of which have been on the server since it was created in 2016! We have channels for: game day “threads”, general chat, gaming chat, advanced stats discussions, a place for whiskey and BBQ/Smoker lovers, and more! There’s also custom emoji and stickers of your favorite Red Wings.
**I’m interested – what do I do?**
Create an account on [Discord](https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033931551-Getting-Started), once that’s done click the link at the top of this post to join our server! Once joined, we have a small form of verification that requires you to go through our rules channel and click an acknowledgment (a Mo Seider reaction emoji) to gain a role that unlocks all channels.
