Casey DeSmith as a trade target and Jaroslav Halak as a UFA would both make sense. I’d prefer DeSmith but the Habs would need to retain and it would need to be a low-cost asset going back.

Unfortunate we didn’t lock in JoJo or Kinkaid for a little bit longer—Justus still needs to achieve consistency

The monkey paw really curled too hard in 2022. I’m so tired of injuries.

This sucks man. I love Frankie but good lord he is always hurt. And we saw what that did to Georgie last year. Guy played like 13 games in a row at one point. No goalie should have to do that

  5. pforsbergfan9

Because why not? We had to balance out getting Tatar somehow

  6. Smart_Context_7561

Had him in fantasy for the last 2 years and I just can’t anymore

Frankie just can’t buy a break from injuries.

I’d just go with Annunen to start, unless this is like a half-season recovery for Frankie. At some point (next season at the latest) he needs to either sink or swim, and I thought he looked a bit more comfortable last season than when he made his debut.

Time to move on… need a healthy reliable back up.

Nothing against him, but he always seems injured.

It’s ok everyone. We just have to wait for JoJo to hit waivers again.

Love ya Frankie, but this is pretty much it for ya at this point

  12. AssRubbies

Might be time to move on if he can’t stay healthy.

I see the following options depending on length of injury of course:

    1. Annunen (short term)
    2. Waiver claim (short term)
    3. Sign Halak or another UFA (long term)
    4. Trade (long term)

    GODDAMMIT NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN.

    😭

    Sorry…

As is tradition, still love me some Franky tho

  16. Poor Frankie. He and Georgie were a hell of a tandem when he was healthy last season. Whatever happens, Frankie will always be a legend in Lanche Land for his contributions during the cup run.

Frankie is the sweetest guy off the ice and i love his personality but I really think its time to move on. Avs dont overcommit to goalies, not even our starters, so sticking with our backup through three back to back injured seasons just doesnt feel like the right choice for us

Gosh I’ve missed Avs hockey, but I haven’t missed these injury reports at all….

possible positive spin, with camp and preseason around the corner, hopefully a goalie gets waivered that we can grab?

Frankie is obviously a great presence on the team, well liked by the players, coaches and management. And he’s a quality goaltender when healthy. If that wasn’t the case he wouldn’t still be around. But there are more unfair things that happen in the world of sports than moving on from a guy who can’t stay healthy. Injuries often derail promising careers in sports. The history of sports is full of unfortunate stories like that. Unfortunately we have to add Frankie to the list.

Hopefully Annunen is ready but I don’t think they can bank on that, hopefully they can pick up an insurance goalie for cheap or on the waiver wire.

Open to a backup goalie but of the Kinkaid mold – cheap, a little better than what we have.

  22. a-c-s-r

Justus Annunen, you will be on the opening night roster.

  23. BoneyardBill

Will never forget the Frankie chants in the stadium. Was one of my favorite moments ever.

  24. Odd_Philosopher1712

How did he get injured again… he was injured for playoffs last year… or like the back half of the season

  25. Lurkersunion

This isn’t a surprise he had surgery at the end of last season.

  26. blondespikes22

Well I guess we’ll get to see Annunen and if he’s ready

I think he can be claimed by any team though if he’s on waivers so maybe this is a small blessing in disguise for the time being?

  27. blondespikes22

Francouz is the best backup in the league

    ^(fine print: when he’s healthy)

  28. COAvsHowler

Frankie doesn’t seem to be made for hockey anymore

  29. SomeDudeinCO3

Hate to say it, but time to move on from Frankie. Thanks for carrying the team to the SCF.
