  1. Wow is all I can think of. I thought the Chiarot trade would set the standard, but wow, I hope there'll be more of these.

  2. Hagel for basically nothing but magic beans. Not even good magic beans either. This looks like a whole bunch of garbage. Hawks cant scout players so the draft picks are garbage. It just looks really good on paper. I swear the hawks gms do trades based off of video games

  3. If these trades are the standard, this trade deadline is gonna be filled with alot of teams being fleeced

  4. Home run for Tampa. Now you are gittin it Gio. Tampa got really great value. What are you getting for your Cap space? They really know what they are doing in Tampa. If Chicago wants to get even value they are going to have to draft well, really well. They are going to have to hit on both of their picks (unlikely) to get even value. This is clearly a first rounder for a really good player and a first rounder for a really great contract with term. They may win another cup this year. They just passed Calgary in my Cup favourites. We will see how both teams work their new players into the lineup.

  5. Good news for Hawks. I mean if the re-building is a thing, this is a move to that direction.

  6. The Blackhawks get what will most likely be two 30th+ overall picks for a 2 year, low cap hit 50 point depth player. These moves are what keeps Tampa on top.

  7. The 4th round picks from the Hawks are closer to 3rd round and Tampa's picks are closer to early 2nd. The value between that isn't really that much. Brandon Hagel is better than most ELC players drafted in the late first rounds while being avaliable for Tampa for 3 cup runs. He's also super cheap, only 800k more than a ELC player (who if they hit some bonus is probably the same price). All of this makes a ton of sense for tampa.

  8. So you're saying this is a 100% win for Tampa?
As a Hawks and Hegel fan, I hate to see the kid go, but two young roster player on a very good team and two firsts? Passing that judgement this early is stupid, let's be real.
Two low firsts can be turned into a high pick or a very good player and picks.
Passing judgement in this deal now, makes me wonder how you even have a channel.

  9. Hagel?…. JT Miller must be worth a fortune. C'mon Canucks get us some prospects and first round picks.

  10. Hawks were rebuilding when they lost Panarin because of $, Chicago fans like me think this deal sucks. Hawks have a habit of letting go great young talent because of $. I wonder what decade our rebuild will reap a playoff team?

  11. People are just blinded by the “1st” denomination. Realistically both those picks are 27th+. The chances of picks becoming impact nhlers nose dives after the late teens.

It’s not at much as it seems

  12. Great Trade for Tampa this puts them over the top to win it this year and years there after they already have the advantage of FL tax Heaven status which the NHL should definitely look into make everything been a pet pevv of mine for years no way Dury goes rogue like this good luck in VC finding a sucker like this for JT

  13. Hagel is a solid player with some upside still – even in Tampa, I can see him being in the top six. I'm not sure if Tampa overpaid to get him though – two first may sound like a tonne, but they are more like second round picks if the picks are from Tampa… and while the two going to the Hawks are serviceable NHLers, I think they are the bottom six type that can be replaced relatively easily.

The message though is that Tampa is all-in for a three-peat.

  14. I get that there really more like second rounders as tampa always finishes 28-30ish in the draft but geez thats ridiculous. Hagel was let go by buffalo and they could have used him. Hes a good player but i cant believe he cost two firsts, regardless of the draft position.

  15. *Best player Brandon Hagel. TB wins on that.
TB gets a great young player on a bargain 3yr contract extremely cap friendly.
Everyone laughed at Julien Bresisbois when he gave up 2, 1st rounders for Coleman & Goodrow. 2 Stanley Cups Later, who’s laughing? Going for 3 THREE baby!!!!
The Lightning have given several years to Katchouk & Raddysh to crack the lineup. They have been unable to succeed. They both may be bottom end NHL 4th liners.
The Lightning are picking much lower in draft.I say great trade for both teams.

  16. Starting to look like the hawks won that trade.. Raddysh got a hat trick last night for his 20th goal of the season. Oh and Katchouk had a 3 point night. Not saying they’re better than hagel but Raddysh has dramatically over performed on a bad team, and he’s tight with Katchouk. If those 1st rounders pan out this could be the biggest steal in awhile. Go hawks! Also hope hagel succeeds. Kinda a win win.
