The Montreal Canadiens played tonight at home in the Bell Centre against the Arizona Coyotes and would end up beating them by a final score of 6-2 in regulation. In the 1st period 3 goals in 5 minutes from Josh Anderson, Cole Caufield, and Brendan Gallagher would make it 3-0 Canadiens before a fight between Arber Xhekaj and Zack Kassian would keep things calmed down. 5-0 Habs would be the score after the 2nd period due to goals from Juraj Slafkovsky with his first career NHL goal for the 1st overall pick and Nick Suzuki on a brilliant Pavel Datsyuk-esque penalty shot goal. In the 3rd period Arizona would make it competitive with goals from J.J. Moser and Travis Boyd but an empty net goal from Sean Monahan would seal the deal and guarantee the Habs’ victory in this game. With this victory the Canadiens’ record improves to 3-2-0 with 6 points tied for 1st in the Atlantic Division.
