A couple of sketchy contracts have Tucker Poolman and Travis Hamonic joining the Vancouver Canucks. Poolman gets $2.5M for 4 years, and Hamonic gets $3M for 2 years.

I think it was said that Defensemen get more in general this year (Ceci over 3 in Edm by the looks of it). Still don’t like the contracts though
I think he signed them to market value unfortunately. Seth Jones really inflated the price for defencemen.
I don’t mind the Hamonic contract.. 3 mill is ok for a steady partner for Hughes.
We need right side D that can help keep the puck out of our net. That is what we did. Haminic 3M per but short term. A bit of a trade off. Buddy we need right side D what's your idea? There is other players out there.
I'm all good with these signings for all you who don't I'm sure Loui needs a Puck boy in Arizona to dig the pucks out his own empty net
It's the RHD signing bonus. You get an extra 1.5 million. Seth Jones messed up the market for RHD. Just look at Ceci. Hope Brad Shaw can work his magic with this D core.
Can’t wait to see how this season plays out we have big potential if everyone stays healthy
OEL-Myers
Hughes-Hamonic
Rathbone/Juolevi-Poolman
Gotta pay to get but 3mil for Hamonic seems high
18mil left for Hughes & Peaty .
What do you guys think about poolman
So this means no Luke Schenn I assume?
Nevermind I see he's also been signed to 2 years at 850,000per
Couldnt you sign one good D for 5.5?
Overpayment for sure…
are they over payments if the market is this high for RHD
Poolman yes but Hamonic's is ok
Hamonic is not an overpayment, and Poolman is a defensive RD that would get the same thing for a different team. Smh.
Hamonic was really good with Hughes so I’m happy with the Contract but that Poolman contract is way to long
Who do you think gets the A next season?
I dont think Hamonic is overpaid. You have to remember he was UNDERPAID last season cause there was no more cap space by the time he signed.
Poolmans contract is a bit long but I dont think its the end of the world.
Hamonic isn't overpaid imo. He played well. And poolman seems overpaid yes, but he's a big body, I'm interested to see how he compliments Rathbone
Agreed with u
How about them "Jets"… "There is are some new Sheriff 's in Town," "No relation to "Reggie Hammond "! See some of you in the playoffs!!!
Parker, Juolevi is eligible for waivers, no way Jim throws him away like that. I expect the Canucks will carry 2 extra dmen this year (OJ & Schenn), just one extra forward as their scratches (Highmore).
Benning needs to send his Poolman to destroy you and your little mic!
Where does this "shutdown defenseman" label come from? Poolman is not good defensively.
I would like to ask everybody this question, Was the Vancouver CANUCKS YIN-YANG ORCA LOGO presented on Top of the GREAT WALL of CHINA on a special occasion before "2012" ? Was the Vancouver CANUCKS YIN-YANG ORCA LOGO presented on Top of the GREAT WALL of CHINA on a special occasion in 2017 before the 2019 STORM? Predictions from the GREAT WALL of CHINA?🤔🤔🤔👀👀👀.
DEADPOOLMAN?🤔🤔🤔.
Hamonic at $3 million is a solid deal for a top 4, ideally #5 defensive defensemen, Poolman much less so, but you have to remember, some crazy money is being handed out right now for very mediocre players. Depth is worth a lot more than it used to be. I'm quite sure there was a bit of a bidding war as a result for Poolman's services, and probably even Hamonic. At least they got Luke Schenn for under a million. That's an excellent contract for a physical, stay at home NHL calibre d-man is bottom pairing ideally, but I think in a pinch short term he can play #4. Emphasis on short-term. Given the market right now, both of those deals are about where I'd expect them to be, particularly with over half the league fighting over NHL calibre depth players. At least we have defensemen now who can actually live up to their position and aren't just trying to be the next Paul Coffey, who couldn't check to save his life. I see OEL as a bit of a Ray Bourque type of player, which is good. You need a guy who can be good both ways, but at least we brought in some guys who can play physical and shut the other team's top player down. It was pretty scary last season when the Canucks didn't have the puck. The forwards were being asked to do things that were beyond their pay grade.
And if Benning had offered them the $$ you think is appropriate, they wouldn't be here. We'd be looking at Schenn as our #2 RD…where he has absolutely no business playing. The market was so skewed that what looks like an overpayment is actually the going rate. I do kinda agree with the 4 years for Poolman, but again…the market.
