  1. Why would MTL need to trade away Weber’s contract? It is my understanding that the ORIGINAL TEAM is on the hook for his cap hit for the remainder of his contract duration, a penalty for signing such a large and risky offer sheet contract, according to the rules of the CBA the year it was signed, if Weber retired before the expiry of his contract. So what the eff, why would MTL want to compensate other teams with picks to take Weber’s contract when NSH is on the hook for his cap if Weber retires?

I am wondering if it all comes down to Weber: I assume he is still getting paid his 6M per year while being “injured” for the next four years (implicating MTL with 7.9M in cap penalties) VS RETIRING and foregoing the remaining salary associated with his contract (implicating NSH with his 7.9M cap penalty).

Who decides if he “retires” vs stays on long term injury reserve? It seemed MBergevin advocated for this route in the off-season. WHY?!?!?!?!

  2. A team somewhere out there having interest in Weber's contract doesn't really surprise me. It could be useful to a lot of teams. Possibly one like Arizona just to give an example, who are trying to reach the cap floor. Chiarot will definitely be moved from some point now on to the deadline, but I have a strange feeling something is brewing between Montreal and Dallas. We'll see. I don't see the fit with Gourde. You already have a couple prospects in the pipeline with Simoneau and Kidney. Both could be middle six centers.

  3. Just to let you know , Bergeron on tva is the biggest idiot in Quebec sports casting. I mean this guy is super stupid. Watch him during a habs game and you'll see.

  4. Mtl doesn't need more small framed players… even with heart and talent…. we need more Anderson clones!!! 😉

  5. Thx for the vid. Many of these players played well under DD last season. I’m not buying the whole DD ruined these players and how he’s not a “real coach.” You guys just loved him after the finals run. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out these guys still want out especially Petry , play for next contract, increase trade value. Anyways, the bump from a new coach eventually wears off and we’re back to square one.

Hopefully chiarot is next to go, followed by Petry, then gally, then Drouin. Would be nice to get the Weber contract off the books along with some of the ones mentioned above.

As for Caufield, so funny watching all this DD robbed CC of the Calder. All the excuses for him after hyping him up for almost 2 years is comedy gold. THAT’S GOLD JUNKIE…GOLD…

  6. Please give these big contract guy ( Bergeron guys ) away for a song.. we want guys who want to be here. Guys like rem PITLICK!!! Anderson!!!! Let’s move chariot unless he wants to stay for small potatoes.. we will be a better team when we get rid of price ,Weber , armia, petry, druin, or anyone else who has mental issues… & jeff molson should be ashamed of himself for letting this season get lost.. if you couldn’t see he isn’t the leader (Perry was) from last season. Molson must have been tast testing his product too much!!!

  7. A nutter grasshopper on board. Makes me laugh every time. And god knows, we habs fans could use a few laughs. What Philippe Allard said about Gourde. ..100%.

  8. I had a buddy say, Wow, if we keep winning, we might actually be able to slide into that wild card spot!! lol, NOPE! lol. Habs have 37 points right now, and they have 22 games left, IF they won EVERY GAME! We'd have 81 points, Florida and Tampa already have 79 and 78 points, so if they lose EVERY game, and we win EVERY game, we can't lose 2!! lol. So lets continue to play well, scoring lots, without winning, it sucks, i dont want the guys to lose this winning feeling, we r playing like we did in the playoffs last year, and I hate to see it stop, but it has to! I can't believe we r still only one point out of last place after the games we just won.

  9. Shea weber wax a very bad captain for the habs, totally disinterested. Amazing they left him as captain

  10. Hate to see the Canadiens not make the playoffs this season. The Canadiens can do I thing for the remaining games… play spoiler.. Teams that will be playing the Canadiens need the 2 points. If the Canadiens win that spoils the opponents efforts.
