Red Wings centre Dylan Larkin has beaten the NHl speed record (previously set by Mike Gartner) at the NHL All-Star Weekend in Nashville. Larkin set a time of 13.172.

watch mike gartner's video. he started from a standing start at the red line. larkin starts back at the blue line so is already up to speed at the red line so you can't compare the 2. mcdavid today started the same way as gartner and still was slower by a bit than gartner.
Slipped a bit and still broke recod…killed the Kings tonight.
