The New Jersey Devils made somewhat of a surprising move yesterday by reuniting with goalie Keith Kinkaid. They signed him to a one-year, two-way contract. Kinkaid had a good start during his first tenure with the Devils. However, his production progressively got worse as the years progressed. He might be looking to become the Devils’ third-string goalie. Tomas Tatar recently signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche. There were a lot of questions surrounding his free agency period, but we finally received some clarity.

I liked Kinkaid. Don’t mind him getting another crack at it!
Trey, Kinkaid could also be viewed as the back up. There were talks earlier in the summer that Fitzgerald wanted Schmid to get more starts on the AHL to further his development. It's not a crazy proposition that this could be the avenue to make that happen. I'm not the GM or coach, but if there was any traction to that development comment, this could be part of the plan. Just a thought.
Update: Devils announced this morning that Luke Hughes will NO LONGER participate in the Prospects Challenge
Tatar in the Av's for so cheap could bite back. If it bites it's obviously big deal 😀
